2/4/10: First acceptance! In at GMU via phone call.

2/8/10: Received official acceptance packet from GMU in mail.

2/8/10: Decision made via status checker at Loyola Chicago...

2/9/10: DePaul status checker says decision letter sent...

2/10/10: In at Loyola via email! A packet is to follow via snail mail. Okay, received an invitation to Merit scholarship reception in snail mail, but no admittance letter yet. Hmm...

2/12/10: Received acceptance letter at Loyola with scholly offer of $10K per year!

2/12/10: In at DePaul via email!

2/16/10: Received official acceptance packet from DePaul including a scholly offer of $20K per year! It's been a good week...

2/18/10: Email from Loyola upping my scholly to $12K per year. Formal letter to follow... Received a t-shirt from DePaul in the mail.

2/19/10: Okay, deep breath. DR at GTown. I know it's a serious reach, but still... I want in!

2/22/10: Ahhhh! GTown admitted students site let me in! Then I got an email with a reminder to send in my ED agreement! Cycle over!

2/24/10: Waitlisted at American. Interesting... Well, I'll withdraw from all the other schools once I get my offical acceptance letter in hand. Emailed GTown today and they said I should get my official letter in a couple of days....Held at Northwestern...

2/25/10: Woohoo! Finally received my offical acceptance letter from GTown! Arrived in a small fancy envelope with a very nice handwritten note from the dean of admissions. I will officially start withdrawing my other apps.

2/26/10: Okay, so while I'm ridiculously excited about my decision and have zero doubts about GTown, there is still something unnatural about withdrawing from perfectly good schools...

3/10/10: Well, waitlisted at GW, even though I withdrew over a week ago...

Your Numbers Give Me Hope!
Monday, November 01 2010 at 08:00 PM

My numbers are really similar to yours (and I also have a MS) but I would hardly have hoped to get into the schools you were accepted to. Can you share why you think you got in despite the odds? I'm submitting my apps this weeks and want any last minute tips I can get. Thanks a lot.
