Extracurricular Information
I graduated Magna Cum Laude with Research Honors, did a Study Abroad in France, was on the Dean's List all four years, Dean's Key, Faculty Scholar and Study Abroad Scholarship. A finalist for a Fulbright, etc. I also spent two years teaching English in France and in Russia, where I'm originally from. I volunteer with a community organization and serve on the board of a foundation my parents and I started.
Additional Information
Waiting for the December score to apply to Boston U and Boston C, Columbia, NYU, and U of Michigan. Why? I don't know.
Retook the LSAT 12/06/08, thought I did better, but the proof will be here soon.
11/28/08 Sent in Cornell - now I have to work on that certification letter!
11/25/08 Sent in Harvard, Emory, Duke, and GSU!
11/24/08 Complete at GW
11/20/08 American app is sent!
11/10/08 Sent in apps to GW, Tulane, and Berkeley. Still waiting on my transcript to come in, as well as my LORs. Something tells me I'll be waiting into December. Decided not to go ED to GW - too much pressure. It was nice not paying those application fees. Now the waiting begins. It'll never end.
11/04/08 - Got a fee waiver from LSAC.
I wondering, though, if my softs will pull my score up for the top 10 schools.

I wish you all the best in your cycle.
Btw, I am all into Russian literature. I even took a Russian language class as an UG. But my Russian is laughable and whatever it was that I learned (I got an A in the class, though) is getting rusty these days.
Keep us posted how your cycle goes. I am sure you will break into a T25 easily. Probably even T10.

URM status? Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 at 8:22 pm
Well, I guess if you're a citizen here or a permanent resident and also not Caucasian then you are clearly an URM - which means that with your score you stand a pretty good shot at a T14 school.
On the other hand, if you identify yourself as Caucasian then I am not so sure that you will be an URM, even if English isn't your first language.
However, English not being your native tongue certainly is important, I think, to the adcomms. You can play the diversity card and see what happens. I am doing the same.
HTH.
Best wishes.

Best of luck on Cornell. I hope we both get in :)
I see you have a lot of fee waivers. If you don't mind answering, did you get 'em through the CRS or do you have a LSAC fee-waiver (or, did you apply for/ask for a fee waiver directly to/from the school)?

dang, LSN does not accept Cyrillic. Anyway, I said: Spasiba!
LOR's Wednesday, November 12th, 2008 at 12:22 am
I did the same - only 1 LOR was in when I sent in the apps, although everything else were already processed. That said, the rest of my (2 more) LOR's are now in and have been forwarded to the LS's as per my assignment.
So, I don't think there's any disadvantage to sending in the apps before the LOR's are in. However, it may matter in places like Fordham that have 0 LOR requirements - mine was complete and under review there with just 1 LOR, even though I wanted them to look at at least one other LOR [but now the other LOR has been forwarded as well, although I don't know if Fordham will bother to look over it].

I see that Cornell is your top choice. It's my top choice as well, and I can assure you that Ithaca is an amazing, beautiful town.

You are not a URM. URM= 2 types of hispanics and native/african americans.
