Additional info & updates

$8,000 a year at John Marshall
$5,000 a year at UDC
$8,000 a year at Suffolk

Accepted into Seton Hall's PT program despite applying for the FT program.

Accepted into Kent's PT program off the waitlist.

I have withdrawn from the following schools: Suffolk, DC, Seton Hall, Hofstra, Northeastern, Howard

I have ranked the schools into 4 distinct tiers (not related to USNWR) based on which I wish to attend. In order for me to go pass up a chance at a higher tiered school, scholarship money would need to be involved.

What is the deal with DePaul? I really hate them.

I'm withdrawing from John Marshall, UDC, Howard, Suffolk, Hofstra, and Northeastern. I hope this helps your chances.

Looks like you had some great options! Always good to see people with those :) Why'd you pick Catholic vs John Marshall w/ the $?

I want to eventually work in Washington in government so I figured a tier 2 in DC is probably a better idea than a tier 4 in Chicago. I'll end up paying for money but I think it will be worth it in the long haul.

go Hawkeyes??? :)

Hiya Abe, What about the Cyclones? ;) Thanks for stopping by my page. I hope I end up somewhere near DC, too! How long did it take you to go complete at Catholic? Thanks!

Thanks for the message about Fordham. What is up with Seton Hall this year? They must really be trying to up their numbers! You are going to a better school anyways!

withdrawing

Actually, I have sent in my seat deposit to Catholic and am 95% sure that is where I will be attending. But, I live in Chicago, and if I am accepted to DePaul, IIT, or Kent off the waitlist, I will seriously consider changing my mind. I am not withdrawing from John Marshall because I want to use the scholarship offer as some sort of leverage when dealing with Catholic's financial aid office. If they (Catholic) give me no money, then for cost reasons I might have to go to John Marshall (I could live at home and the scholarship helps).

what to do?

The heat is on, the decision is looming, the comparisons are stacking up. Kent or Catholic, Kent or Catholic, Kent or Catholic???

No, If I get into Marquette or DePaul off the waitlists, fulltime, I would have to consider them as well. Sorry, but I need to keep my app. unwithdrawn at the moment, I don't think that's a word.

Hi! congrats on catholic. I read that you want to end up in DC govt and I know all about that. Its why I applied to catholic too. What you should know is that even though there are about 5 other great schools in the area, Catholic is part of the big 3 for recruitment so you'll often get an offer before some of the "better ranked" schools. After meeting with Catholic's employment office for quite some time, I feel like going there will definitely be worth the investment and should pay off with a great job!!! give me a shout if you decide to go to catholic for sure in the fall best wishes! ~becky

It's official

It's official, I've picked Catholic over Kent and I'm making the "Big Move" East in early August. Thank you LSN for all your misleading graphs and for causing me much to much worry.

Hi, I am pretty sure that I might be attending Catholic in the Fall as well--just wondering what swayed it for you? Let me know if you have a chance...thanks! and Congrats on being done with the process....

No it did not help me. Seriously, I just hate putting white on everything that asks for race. Whiteness is just as arbitrary as blackness or brownness or anything else.

Hi, Thanks for responding.....maybe I'll see you there in the fall....I was always under the impression that fewer firms recruited from Catholic, but your post piqued my interest in looking into it further...thanks again!
