The decision date I have entered is the date that I received the letter, not the date indicated on the letter from the school. Also, I was reserve listed by Cornell on 3/28 but since I updated to rank it as #1 it shows the decision date as 4/26, which is not accurate--just FYI

Process of Elimination
*Withdrew from University of the Pacific on 3/29/05 but will leave it listed as accepted for those who wish to keep track of the numbers (did anyone notice that UoP/McGeorge made it into the top 100 rankings in US News for 2006)....and Pepperdine moved up....interesting.....
*Withdrawal from Chapman sent 4/9/05

$$$$$$$$$$$$$.....

*Diversity scholarship at Seattle University, $8k
*$10k to Nevada

Details...

Santa Clara told me over the phone on 05/05/05 that I was waitlisted...mind you, they've had my application for 6 months....they're a tier 3 now anyways and I'm not going...but I am slightly irked by their inefficiency and continued indecisiveness on my file...

Villanova told me by telephone that I had been rejected. I called to get a status update (was told 2 weeks ago that my letter had been sent out) and on 5/09/05, I still had not received it. Oh well....

0=withdrawn

6/30/05- I have been put on the official summer waitlist at Cornell and if admitted, I will definitely go there, even if they let me in 2 days before their classes start. But in the meantime, I am moving forward with plans to attend Seattle University and I am really happy about it. Less debt=happy law student. I will update if I hear anything from Cornell.

Hey Hopeful, all I know is as you say, they review the reconsiderations after they've gotten through their primary applications. But call them if you have any questions, they're quite accessible and willing to help. Good luck. If we don't get it, it means we'll have more rejection letters than applications filed...or at least I will! The hilarity of it all...

Hi Hopeful - How did you hear about the admittance from Catholic's WL - email, mail? Congrats! I am hoping to get off the WL too for the PT program.

Ok, well, I tried to comment to you by going to your lawschoolnumbers profile but your thing said you don't accept visitor comments so I will put my answer here and just hope that you check back. Thanks for the congrats (I love it--everyone is so supportive on here!) and my notice came via snail mail in a big, stuffed envelope--one of those envelopes you assume means good news even before opening it. Good luck on getting off the waitlist--I recommend sending supplemental materials to the school if you haven't already--I sent a letter and one additional statement. Good luck on getting off the waitlist, I tried to look you up but it appears you haven't posted any of your info so I can't tell what your stats are--but I'm sure you will do well and they will let you in...just tell them how much you really want to go there =) Good luck and thanks for commenting!

Villanova actually lost my application, or at least misplaced it. I called the admissions office and they let me speak to an admissions officer. The next day I had an offer of admission accompanied with a scholarship. So I would encourage you to call them if it has been a long time since you have heard from them.

Hi Bobo, I tried to respond back to your profile page, but it didn't work, so I hope that you check back here. Santa Clara admissions is full of idiots. I did call, but not so much to request my status as to ask for a refund of my application fee because I was convinced that they had lost my application. They told me they mailed every last decision out last week--so you should hear soon. They did actually tell me I was waitlisted over the phone, but only after ten very long minutes of arguing. I'm over them....but I hope everything works out well for you. Please let me know how it goes.

I was truly impressed with the facilities, the number of firms that hire from Catholic, and its location in DC. Add to that the collegial atmosphere of the student body and my desire to work in government upon graduation, I believe I made the right choice.
