Retake the LSAT
Wednesday, March 26 2014 at 01:32 PM

I am following your cycle with great interest, and I think you are going to do very well. That being said, have you considered retaking the LSAT? I think you'd be looking at a completely different cycle if you could score 163 or higher.

Good Advice!

I've been actually contemplating this for a while now (I took the LSAT in February). I've just been so busy with school along with my job right now. I want to maintain my GPA for my senior year, but feel like if I take on the LSAT right now it will decrease. I probably will take it next year, if I get bad outcomes right now. But yea, you're right. I think I score in the mid 160's would draw some scholarship money from a top school.

If you keep a GPA above 4 and score 163+ you've got a solid shot at the holy trinity

Awesome news on UVA! Congrats!

Thank you so much! I'm still in shock especially with my LSAT score!

Congrats!

Congrats on UVA! Thanks for giving the rest of us some hope this cycle!

Thank you so much! I am beyond elated right now!

Congratulations on all of your acceptances! You're having an awesome cycle!

Bro, retake, with your GPA, you could sweep HYS with a 165 and get full rides to T14s. By taking a year off and retaking the lsat you can legit make $200k.

why x

did you write a why uva or why gulc statement?

Friday, September 19 2014 at 09:10 PM

Thank you so much for the congrats! I didn't write any why statements for UVA or Georgetown. However, for each school, I wrote an additional diversity statement along with my personal statement. And yes, I know. I am considering retaking. I just have to find the time. lol

Congrats on all your success. I have a 157 and a 3.8 so you are giving me some hope. Did you apply early decision anywhere? I am about to submit my ED GTown app today. Also don't think I will do the additional optional response- only the PS and the diversity. Thanks!

Thank you!
Friday, September 19 2014 at 09:10 PM

No ED for me. I just applied early through regular decision . By the way, are you a URM candidate? If so, you may want to shy away from an ED application, unless you are completely sure that you wanna attend GTown. Its kind of weird, but a lot of URM candidates who ED often get accepted to higher ranked schools. URM outcomes are unpredictable. lol

Wednesday, November 12 2014 at 01:53 PM

I wish... i am not a URM. i am just a white american/Canadian girl haha. georgetown is my dream school though, so I am really praying to get accepted. I did ED bc i know that I would 100% go if i got in.

Good Luck!
Friday, September 19 2014 at 09:10 PM

Gotcha! Well in that case, an ED app to Georgetown would be a good decision! Good Luck! You can do it!

Hope you haven't hit your ceiling quite yet. I've always suspected there are more sub-160 LSATs at Harvard than are reported here. Hopefully you'll be among them soon. Thanks for keeping your profile public; yours is probably the most interesting from the standpoint of URM admissions in a long time.

Thanks!

Yea, in all honesty, I wasn't even expecting to get into one T-14 school. I feel very fortunate to have been accepted to so many great schools! I truly belief my work experience, background, and life story made a difference. And I feel very confident with Columbia! I just interviewed with them last week and it went very well!

Awesome job. I'm in a similar situation, gpa a little lower but lsat a little higher. What's your number one school?

Friday, September 19 2014 at 09:10 PM

I've narrowed down to Penn, UVA, and Cornell. I'm hoping UVA can bump up their offer from 75K and I'm praying that Cornell gives me some big money. $$$$

Congrats on finishing your cycle!! Hope you enjoy Penn :D
