Additional info & updates

2/22 - Well, it's probably no surprise that I was pretty disappointed with my LSAT score. I had been scoring in the 155 to 160 range, but this past semester was extremely busy for me with a heavy load of classes and work. I am considering taking a year off and studying for a retake of the LSAT, although I'm not sure I see the benefit to that if I do get into at least one or two of my remaining schools. American is my top choice, as I am really interested in international law, so I will probably hold out as long as possible in hopes of being admitted off of their wait list. I applied to their JD/MA program, so I have yet to hear back from their School of International Service, as it will also be issuing me an admissions decision for the master's program. Syracuse would also be a good option if AU doesn't pan out. Mercer or USC would be good options, as they're closer to home and offer cheaper costs of living, but who knows if my LSAT score is enough to get me into any of those. I'm keeping my head high though and wishing everyone the best of luck on their applications!

How were your LOR's and your Personal Statement? Are you going to retake the LSAT? Did Syracuse give you any amplifying information about the chances of being admitted off of the waitlist? Good luck with the rest of your apps!

Hi! My LORs and PS were really strong. I was scoring between 155 and 157 on my practice LSATs, so the 148 was a definite let down. I don't want to retake it because I'll have to take a year off to do so, but I'm not ruling out the possibility. I was also REALLY surprised that I was waitlisted today from American. Both them and Syracuse indicated in their emails that chances of getting off of the waitlist are high, so I'm gonna stay hopeful for the next few months. Thanks!

Did you receive an email from financial aid prior to decision?

No, I received an email from financial aid a few weeks after saying that they had received my FAFSA information. I actually wasn't officially wait listed from FIU, but rather they sent me an email saying that they were holding my application for further review. So since there isn't an option for that on here, I put wait listed since that's what they're really doing anyways.

Thanks! They first called then emailed me! I know that was just the first tier of waitlist acceptance that they did and once people accept/deny from their they're admitting more. Plus the deposits for the accepted students are due soon (either end of this month or next month), so they'll be admitting more off the waitlist soon. Hope that helps!
