Hi!

Hey, thanks for the comment and congrats on the LSAT - that's awesome! I think that even though our index #'s are similar you'll have an egde because of your lsat score. So how'd you find out you were complete at Baylor? Whats your first choice school? Good luck!

Baylor

Congrats on the Baylor acceptance!!! That's gotta feel good to start out w/ an acceptance. Hope they keep coming - esp BYU.

Actually, Im a little nervous to hear back from Utah... that one single decision will basically determine whether or not I move out of state. And its a coin toss. Yikes!

Utah waitlist...

Hey man, I don't know what the deal is with the U. I'm from BYU too so it doesn't look like they've got much love for the cougars this year. Your numbers are still solid for Utah. I actually transfered from Utah to BYU after my mission so maybe that had something to do with it? I have no idea. It actually kind of ticked me off by getting waitlisted but I think I'll probably end up attending BYU now over Utah instead. I was torn between the two if I stay in state but now think I'll stay at BYU and not ride the waitlist at Utah. Hopefully you get into BYU again though. Try following up at Utah with a Letter of Continued interest and get in another letter of rec or something and really express your big desire to attend the U. I'm wondering if they think I/we don't really want to go there that badly and they're trying to gauge our interest by waitlisting us. I think you have an excellent shot off the wailist. Your soft factors are awesome... I don't know what the U is thinking.

I am starting to lean towards BYU due in large part to the costs. They are a really great deal...one that is hard to pass up.

Waitlisted at the U TOO!? What crap!

Utah again

This is random but I'm ticked about Utah as well. I actually really wanted to go there. I've recieved scholarships and acceptances from schools that are ranked better then the U. It doesn't make any sense to me. But whatever.

I've talked to a few current students and overheard some talking at the recent Admitted Student Day, and also talked to some grads. At the student day, the dean of admissions even said it is very competitive here but at the same time there is a lot of other areas which make BYU a very attractive option. Students I heard from said it is very competitive in the sense that people aren't very sharing with class notes and outlines like other places. Some told me it also has a feel of people always trying to outdo each other. One of my friends said part of it has to do with students passing up higher schools for BYU and thus knowing they have to finish higher in their class for a job they may have gotten easier from another school. I don't know how much that effects it though. I've heard the workload is ridiculous (but it seems that way at all schools and I don't know what they're comparing it to either). <a href="http://www.princetonreview.com/law/research/rankings/rankingDetails_pr07.asp?topicID=4" title="http://www.princetonreview.com/law/research/rankings/rankingDetails_pr07.asp?topicID=4" class="data">http://www.princetonreview.com/law/research/rankings/rankingDetails_pr07.asp?topicID=4</a> <a href="http://www.top-law-schools.com/brigham-young-law.html" title="http://www.top-law-schools.com/brigham-young-law.html" class="data">http://www.top-law-schools.com/brigham-young-law.html</a>

I don't know why it double posted, sorry :(

BHS
Monday, March 03 2008 at 07:00 PM

Well, I actually didn't go to BHS, but its to throw off the adcomms in case they try to figure out who I am sorry to deceive any of you. That's great about ASU, assuming I get dinged/waitlisted at the U, and I actually get in to ASU, that's where I hope to go.

TITLE REQUIRED

ASU sent the scholarship in the mail two weeks after acceptance.

WOW
Tuesday, June 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

You and I are in almost the exact same boat. I sent my deposit in to ASU. Looks like I'll be paying out-of-state tuition! I can't wait. Any decisions yet for you?

BYU Waitlist Notification
Monday, March 03 2008 at 07:00 PM

I got my notification by regular mail. It was mailed on Thursday and got to Logan on Tuesday. No email was sent. The status said \"decision rendered\" where I know that (at least during regular admissions) the decision status says \"congratualtions.\" Hope this helps.
