Extracurricular Haiku:

Number slightly fidged.

Will post all after cycle.

interesting softs.

Mich is my #1 choice by far but I know its a reach. I may have some things going for me though ie, local, good LORs, work experience, got it in early. But I'm worried the ED pool is dried up. Crossing my fingers for the regular decision. . .

I think I have a good shot at Colorado, Wisconsin, USC, Minnesota and all the Washingtons.

Fee waiver from Notre Dame feels good, though it still might be a bit of a reach.

Many of the schools on here are reaches. Wish I had done just a bit better in UG. Lost a whole GPA point during my semester abroad.

My UG does not report my GPA for my major. . . not cool.

12/11/2008 :( There is not an emoticon big enough to express my sadness. . . Deferred from Michigan's ED program and placed in the regular decision pool. . . heartbreaking. Thought I had a decent shot. Application status never changed from complete. Small letter arrived today.

12/13/2008 Applied to U of Alabama because they gave me the fee waiver and 20 free itunes downloads. Should be interesting to hear from them. . . Roll tide roll.

12/22/2008 Requested my username and password from Georgetown's website. . . looks like my application is complete. Never even got a letter saying it had been received. I wonder if that's a bad sign. . . thanks for the heads up, Gtown. . .

12/29/2008 Welp, its been about 10 days since the majority of my applications went complete. My UG's Dean is really holding things up with Cornell. . . feeling pretty stressed and ready to here some good decisions. . .

1/16/2009 : ( Flat out rejected from Mich. . . looks like they hit me in the first wave of rejections, no waitlist or anything. I hope this isnt a sign for the rest of my apps. Thought my numbers and WE were enough to at least make them consider me. Ouch. Good luck to everyone still waiting.

1/20/2009 Thank God! With Emory and W&L I'm 2 for 3. I was getting worried for a bit but I think this is a good sign for things to come. . .

1/22/2009 Life is good! Call from Dean of Minnesota. I'm in! 3 for 4 and one of them is one of my top choices! I can finally relax a bit : ) *edit: scholarship budget exhausted for now - waiting on possible scholarship offer.

1/22/2009 Status checker at U of Illinois changed to 'admit'. hoping this means I'm in and pretty sure it does so I am updating accordingly. : ) 4 for 5 and feeling great about this one.

One day I might write something famous for publication and will make sure to add a small note in which I do NOT thank U of Michigan for any of my success : )

1/23/2009 A really nice call from a dean at Alabama. Cant wait to see all my cards so I can start playing my hand. . . (excuse the poker reference; I dont even play)

1/28/2009 No news for a week now. . . I cannot wait till this whole cycle is over. . . Really hoping for a nod from ND NU or U of Chi. . . A fella can dream cant he? Also USC or UCLA would be dreamy. . . or Vandy or Cornell (might take a while). So many possibilities.

Truth be told, I am/will consider going to all of the schools to which I have applied.

Finally made it to 1,000 views! I wonder how many of them are me viewing my own stats LOL.

12/29/2009 - Ding from Northwestern the crusher of dreams via online status check.

1/02/2009 Waitlisted at Wisco with an offer of admission to transfer as long as I end first year in top 50% of my class. . . Yping?

1/3/2009 Nothing more exciting than exotic area codes! In at Cardozo via lovely phone call. . . Very happy : )

1/6/2009 Waitlisted at Colorado?!?! WTF guys. I would have seriously considered you (though you are not ranked as well as some of my acceptances) but now I'm just insulted at their YPing me.

Wow, quick decisions from Cornell. Hope its good news. . .

2/09/09 Hey now! waitlisted at Notre Dame and Cornell! Though its not good or bad news, really, I am SUPER psyched. I made the mistake of not sending "why Cornell or ND" essays and now I have the chance to do so. What an honor it is just to be considered. : )

2/14/2009 I am the King of the Waitlists! GW

2/17/2009 I AM the waitlist King! BC

2/19/2009 Getting excited thinking about cardozo and New York, so i decided to send an app out to Fordham. Thats where Michael CLayton went.

2/20/2009 Decision at Vandy! Cant wait to hear. : 0

Waitlisted at Vandy : )

BU rejection. . . what a bunch of jerks : (

With a U of Chi and Berkeley rejection, I've hit 3 dings in a row : ( Lets hope these things only happen in 3s. . .

Waitlisted at American?!?! Man, that stings. Pretty angry about the yping so I am scratching them off my list. Would likely have attended. Got some friends there who like it. Their loss.

On hold at Wash U St L. Considering it a waitlist.

Decision at Georgetown!!! Will basically be the end of my cycle, barring major money from Fordham or getting off a waitlist.

A no from G-town. I wrote the W&L career services department 2 emails with some questions and they never wrote back. I wrote Minnesota's career services department and they wrote back within the day. W&L dropped to 30 and Minnesota rose to 20. I think I've made my decision!

I sent my michigan ED app around when you did, and I'm nervous about the Nov 15th deadline bc it's still not listed as "requested" on the lsac website. Same thing happening to you?

I like your optimism! I've slowly lost mine. However, a few people were admitted in december last year (ED) so I'm trying to convince myself that there is still a chance

I'm actually from a Detroit suburb, so I'm close to A2, but I don't actually live there. I can't wait to move though. It's a great college town. It seems to me that Dean Z really wants people who show enthusiasm about Mich, so don't give up! You still have a chance for an RD acceptance. I hope to see you next year.

Thanks for the comment. I'm going to play my cards pretty close right now... I doubt I'll withdraw from anywhere until I find out what scholarships I am being offered.

Yea, good luck with your applications since hopefully that will mean my own good luck :) I didn't write the Why Notre Dame essay which might be why I got the waitlist.

well, ive heard that its pretty difficult for non-residents to get accepted to colorado. plus, i messed up on my app and sent them the wrong draft of my PS. i corrected it as soon as i realized, but the application package was already processed. i'll blame it on that. :P

no, i didnt. apparently schools like you to have their name in your personal statement, as opposed to a final sentence that reads "these are the qualities that i will bring to ---- school of law." whoops.

I did write the ND optional essay. Not sure how strongly it plays a roll. I went there for undergrad and have been in contact with a law professor there recently, so I was able to talk very specifically about what I liked, which I think helped me.

Hey, sorry for the delay in response. ND is prob my #1 choice right now, but I'm visiting Emory and Wash U to keep an open mind. Hopefully I'll get my FAFSA info back quickly so i can make a decision.
