Masters degree. Got into the application process late in the game so I'm keeping my fingers crossed at this point.

Was disappointed in my LSAT score - my practice test results were significantly higher than the LSAT I just had a mental freeze on the day of the exam. Who's interested in signing a petition to use practice test results instead of the real thing :-)

I guess my application should be called the "audacity of hope" cos many of my schools are considered reaches given my scores. I have schools in my range but I am still 'hoping.' I wrote a strong PS and added as many supplementary statements as possible.

03/14 Acceptance @ Suffolk yay! That was pretty fast seeing as I applied just 2 weeks ago. Awesome.

03/15 Large white envelope $15k each yr for 3yrs from Suffolk. Woo-hooooooooooooooo

03/16 Made a round of calls to schools:

BU - no record of my application on their computer huh? I "nicely" let the lady know I received a postcard saying 'we received your application.' She told me to call back next week and she'd have an answer for me. Hmn!

USC - didn't receive my LORs. Huh! I sent them through LSDAS and according to my account information, 3 updates have been sent to USC since January including two rounds of LORs - LORs with original application and another that was sent late. Hmn!!!! Not good.

Loyola - No decision yet
GW - No decision yet
UCLA - No decision
W&L - Still deferred. Should hear no later than April 24th

03/16 - USC Application complete.

03/19 BU 'found' my application and I am now in their system. My LSAC account also shows they've requested my report.

03/28 Received a call from Santa Clara. Thinking it was good news I had my acceptance speech at the tip of my tongue only to hear sorry we received your application but lost it - can you please send another one.

The waiting continues

04/04 Called Santa Clara to find out if they received the new appl. packet. All set.

04/05 - 3 emails from LUC - start reading email # 1 and it says "dear admitted student" we have no more $$. I'm excited yet unsure cos I haven't received an acceptance letter. I'm thinking I'll probably get it in the mail tomorrow. Email # 2 says pretty much the same thing but lets me know they don't have my FAFSA info (that's ok i'm not eligible). Email # 3 (the heartbreaker) corrects previous emails from "dear accepted student" to "dear PROSPECTIVE STUDENT" ARGH!!!!! Anyone else get these emails?

04/11/07 Small white envelope from GMU REEEEEEEjected.

04/18/07 Email from W&L saying - 'cause they promised to make a decision by mid-April, they'd like me to know that my status has been changed from deferred to waitlisted (this is good right?). Should get an official letter in the mail.

04/21 Small white envelope from LUC - Waitlisted. I'm happy I didn't get dinged. Enclosed a WL decision form to be sent no later than April 30th. Letter said a review will be done mid-May keeping my fingers crossed.

04/25 WL @ GW - came in a small white envelope. I soooo did not expect this - thot I was going to get dinged.

05/01 Called Quinnipiac - spoke with Asst. Dir of Adm. been put on waitlist and they wanted to let me know if I am interested in the PT program they'd send me an acceptance letter. Official letter to be sent soon. :-( Thought Quinnipiac was a done deal. Called BU - decision's in the mail yikes!!!!!

05/04 What a day - three letters from law schools.
Ding at BU - small white envelope. Expected this and I'm ok about it.
Suffolk - International student intake form request
USD - Accepted into their evening division (applied to the day division). Letter said - sorry we couldn't admit you to the day division but we're glad to have you in the evening division. Does anyone know what the difference is. I know one is less credits but other than that are there any other differences?

Suffolk intake form deadline is May 25th and USD seat deposit is due May 15th. This makes thing tough. Suffolk is giving me $$ and i'll be in the day division. USD no $$ and evening. Do I go ahead and start the I-20 process at Suffolk (which they say is difficult to change) or should I wait for other schools? The life of an international student!!!!!!

05/05 Happy Cinco de Mayo $14k from USD renewable each year - small white envelope. YAY!!!!!!

05/10 Some drama at USD. I'll say more about it when my cycle ends.

05/11 Big white envelope from Santa Clara - yay! Accepted with $20k Law Faculty Scholarship. 1st seat deposit due May 23rd, 2nd due June 1st.

What do I do? All these deposits are so close and I am really broke. I also have to consider which school will give me my I-20 the quickest so I don't get out of status and have to leave the country before school starts. So far Suffolk's looking like the one.

05/14 Dinged at USC (SWE) This hurts a lot (I hoped and prayed my soft factors would get me in). Oh well ...
Got Quinnipiac official letter - will withdraw.
Got Suffolk's New Student Handbook. Have to give it to Suffolk - their staff is verrrry helpful, they are timely, on point with keeping you posted about every aspect of their program and they give you ample time to respond.

05/16 Withdrew from Quinnipiac

05/22 Dinged at UCLA. Nice rejection letter in a SWE

05/23 Withdrew from SCU

06/05 Interview with LLS Admin. Thought it went well but we'll see.

Case Western has been pretty unresponsive. I've called couple of times and each time I've been told I'm in the last stage of evaluation and will get a decision "next week" Well it's been 3 'next weeks' and I still haven't heard anything.

6/14 In at LLS. Wooo-hooo. BWE

Are you going to Suffolk. If so what guided your decision?

Not sure

I'm not sure if I want to attend Suffolk yet but since I haven't heard from anyone else.... If I do decide to go to Suffolk it'll be because of their reputation in the Boston area, and Boston's a great city to live in.

It was a scholarship. Renewable on the condition I maintain a 3.0

I think you should go to Suffolk. The admission office is really helpful and always accessible. They would certainly help you in obtaining your I-20 status.
