Additional info & updates

9/28/11- Reason for low GPA: I fucked up the first go round, got my ass kicked out of college for grades. Recently revived my GPA after almost ten years out of higher learning. LSAT to be taken this Saturday. Hopefully I'll do well enough to get into some good schools. I know most top tier are reaches, but I'm going to have to try anyway.

9/29/11- LSAC Fee Waiver. So... a long, long list of schools.

10/28/11- Got my LSAT score this week. I guess I did ok. Not as great as I was hoping, but not nearly as bad as I felt immediately following the test. Adjusted my list of schools, and updated everything. Kept a few reaches because, hey, why not? Sent out my apps the past couple of days. Let's see how things go.

11/15/11- Accepted at American via email! First response is an admit, totally psyched.

11/16/11- Accepted at DePaul via status checker. Two down.

11/22/11- Acceptance packet from DePaul came, $60,000 scholarship over 3 years. Seems pretty good. So freaking confused by American. Their acceptance packet is online. but has no personalized information or scholarship info.

11/23/11- Just read somewhere that I'm not technically a URM. Whatever. Racists.

11/29/11- In at William & Mary via email. Super surprised.

12/1/11 - W&M scholarship info came, $4k per year. Not a whole lot, but I'm surprised I was even admitted.

12/8/11- In at Denver via email!

12/9/11 - Rejected at GW. Finally, my first rejection. I was starting to get a big head.

12/15/11 - Accepted at Seattle via status checker.

12/22/11 - Accepted at Lewis and Clark via phone.

12/23/11- In at Chicago Kent IIT

12/28/11- Accepted at Pacific-McGeorge via snail mail with $18k/yr scholarship and free books.

1/3/12- Rejected by Virginia via email.

1/5/12- Accepted at Temple via status checker.

1/11/12- Rejected at Georgetown, and on Hold at UIUC, whatever that means. I know it wasn't realistic, but bummed about Georgetown anyway.

1/13/12- Waitlisted at Colorado, rejected by Chicago. Shocker. Got my scholarship info from Seattle, $18k a year. Not bad. Decided to throw one at Minnesota, despite it being late. What could it hurt?

1/17/12- WL'd at UW. Chances of staying at home to go to school looking slim.

1/21/12- Scholarship packet came from Chicago-Kent. $10k to start turns to $20k with performance.

1/23/12- Accepted at Loyola via email.

1/30/12- WL'd at Hastings.

2/6/12- WL'd at Minnesota.

2/10/12- In at Indiana via email.

2/22/12- Dinged by Duke. Duh.

3/21/12- In at Illinois yesterday, Davis today. Leaning towards Seattle, so I can stay close to my family, and the scholarship they offered wasn't bad.

4/2/12- Dinged at WU, WL'd at Emory.

5/1/12- In at SC, WL'd at NM

We have somewhat similar numbers! I think you will definitely get into some of your reaches and wish you the best of luck with your cycle. I'm just waiting for my first admit so that I can breathe a little. My dream school is Davis, but I know I likely won't hear from them until last... so it's going to be an anxious next couple months. :)

I was shocked that you were rejected at GW. Was it a serious consideration?

Congrats on your acceptances. You and I have very similar numbers and college experiences - wasn't expecting that. Hope our cycles continue to go well.

fee waivers

Hey, I have a 2.81 and a 167, and I a not looking at too many of the same schools (mostly midwest), but how did you get a fee waiver? And is that a LSAC fee waiver that covers the $12 report fee, or just the application fee? Was it through LSAC or the schools? Was it based on need or merit? I think I would qualify based on either, but how do I go about it? Please let me know, I am just beginning to send applications (late-ish, but not for where I want to go).
