Additional info & updates

Here we go... Sending the applications in.

Ok. UVA is not looking good as expected. Most people accepted under ED got responses within a couple days. Sending out more applications.

Ok. Wait-listed at UVA as expected. Negatives: 99.9% not going to UVA. Positives: I've been weighing having to pay full price at a t-14 versus some scholarships at a t-25 and I'm happy I'll have an opportunity to see what I get offered. I've been debating EDing at Duke or Mich but I think I'll let the applications ride and see what happens. Let the months of waiting commence.

Sent in apps for Mich and Notre Dame and added a Hastings app. Not going to send in Penn or Texas anymore. I'll prob throw a $100 away and send one in to Stanford just so I don't have any regrets. I think I'll forget about Northwestern too.

Hey now! First acceptance at BU. Looking forward to more!

In at Minnestoa 11/29, nice!

Hm strange, status checker showed accepted an hour ago and now back in review. Seems to be happening to others also...

12/3 Completely shocked. Waitlisted at Illinois. Really bumming me out for the rest of my cycle.

12/7 Received admitted email from BC

12/15 Finally some movement and good news. Accepted at Minnesota via phone call.

12/22 Alright some great stuff happening. In at GWU this morning. Acceptance package should arrive in a couple weeks. I also received my acceptance package from Minnesota this morning. I was awarded the Walter J. Trogner Merit Scholarship which covers the full tuition for all 3 years as long as I maintain a 2.5 gpa. They also included a reimbursement form for up to $300 to come visit the campus which I think I will do in the spring.

1/6 Got the USC acceptance today. Really excited. I would love to go to USC but it's so expensive. Lot's of things to start thinking about.

2/9 Well it looks like there's still a little life left in my cycle after getting dinged at Mich and Georgetown and being accepted at ND and Hastings. Got the acceptance to Vandy today. I am also in faculty review at Berkeley. Keeping my fingers crossed on that one. Come on Berkeley!!! I'm surprised I haven't heard anything from UCLA yet. I don't know why they are holding on to my app for so long. Seems like a WL or ding is in order by now.

2/12 Well my wishes were answered with a wait list at UCLA. I have withdrawn my application as I would rather attend USC if I am to stay in Southern California. After Berkeley's decision on Friday it will be time to start making some decisions of my own.

Sorry about UVA. You don't think you would have a chance at Texas? I still think you should try NU, your work experience must be valued quite a bit, from my personal impressions. Good luck from a fellow HS dropout!

Hey thanks for leaving my first comment. I think I have a good shot at Texas but I decided I don't want to live in Texas for 3 years. I might still apply to NU but from what I understand, post grad WE is what counts there. Looking at your profile, you should have a great cycle. Good luck!

More good luck from a fellow dropout :)
