Additional info & updates

Over the summer, I was really persistent and continuously kept Penn updated of my interest while I was on the wait list. I even visited the campus and spoke with an adcom, because I felt that I could express better that Penn was my dream school and how I felt I could contribute to my class in person. I became a little discouraged as the months passed, but never entirely gave up hope since I felt that Penn was the perfect fit for me. I sent a final letter the week before I left for law school and during the first day of orientation received a call!

Though my admission is deferred, I couldn't be any happier and I know I'm lucky to get the chance to attend my dream school.

Basically, I wrote all of this to encourage people who get wait listed at their top choice and think it's the end of the world. With a lot of genuine effort and determination, you still have a shot at getting in. Just be persistent :)

Congratulations on getting into Texas. I'd like to ask a favor. You and I have similar statistics and we are both waitlisted at Penn. Would you be willing to withdraw if you do not intend to matriculate at Penn?

Did you take the December LSATS?

From the looks of your profile, you took the LSAT in Dec 2009. Is that correct? I have a similiar profile and am also applying to Penn. If you could let me know whether you took the exam in Dec too, I'd really appreciate it. I guess im just looking for encouragement about the prospects of sending in my application "late" (i.e. January) and still having a chance of being admitted.
