Additional info & updates

4/15 - And the winner is...UVa! They made a strong showing early on in my application process and I couldn't be happier to be a Hoo.

3/25 - In at Cornell via e-mail. I'm in complete shock and can hardly process it right now.

3/13 - Waitlisted at UW. Pretty surprising but it didn't matter; I had decided against attending UW prior to their decision.

2/25 - Waitlisted at Michigan. I chose to withdraw as I'm not accepting any waitlist offers, although Michigan would have been fantastic. Thanks to this decision, I more or less have my mind made up and this point.

2/11/11 - Waitlisted at UCLA. Meh.

2/3/11 - In at UNC - there's no place like Carolina!

1/28/11 - Rejected at Berkeley. It would have been unreal to be accepted but I knew my odds were exactly that - unreal. No matter, onward and upward!

1/27/11 - Put on hold at Northwestern. Kind of surprised by this as well; between NU and Vanderbilt I'm beginning to wonder if there's a glaring blemish in my applications. Still deciding if I will remain on hold or not as they keep you waiting for so long. Northwestern would have been a real game changer in my decision making process but as it is I doubt very much that I will wait until May to make up my mind about law school.

1/25/11 - Accepted at Fordham via e-mail! Extremely happy to be in at a NYC school.

1/22/11 - Waitlisted at Vanderbilt. Somewhat surprised by this but not disappointed. I am not planning on remaining on any waitlists as I am already accepted at some fantastic schools and have no desire to draw out my application period any longer.

1/10/11 - Rejected at Chicago via e-mail. No surprise there, nor any real disappointment.

1/6/11 - In at BU!!! Just got the call, delighted to be in at a school in the Northeast and can't wait to visit and check it out in person.

12/29/10 - Just arrived home from my holiday trip to an acceptance package from Lewis and Clark with a $19k scholarship offer! I'm in love with the prospect of Portland and L&C - I think they would suit my lifestyle tremendously.

12/10/10 (an hour later) - Accepted at WUSTL - I got the e-mail while I was out shopping for junk food to soothe the pain of Cornell. Very glad to be in there but Cornell still stings.

12/10/10 - Deferred to RD at Cornell. I'm really hoping they seriously consider me as it's one of my top 2 choices. Slightly disappointed but holding out hope for my re-evaluation in February, though I'm pretty sure it's slim.

12/2/10 (about an hour or so later...) - In at Georgetown! Just got the letter in the mail, so excited to be in at another T14! Dean Cornblatt added a nice note about my PS referencing specifics which was very flattering.

12/2/10 - W&M status checker changed to "Congratulations! Admit Packet Mailed" today - so excited! I loved W&M when I visited. Plus I'm excited to see if I have a scholarship offer; from what I've read, it seems W&M is pretty generous.

11/30/10 - In at Richmond through a call from Dean Rahman! Very excited about this as well. She said I will get final scholarship information relatively soon but it would look like $20k - will post numbers when its final. Also invited to apply for the Marshall scholarship which is incredibly appealing.

11/19/10 - Got the call from Cordel Faulk and I'm in at UVa! Absolutely thrilled and slightly shocked to be admitted RD this early on but who am I to question.
Also noticed that I was dinged at Texas after being in review for 3 days, which leads me to believe they may have taken one look at my GPA and auto-rejected me, but after UVa, I'm too excited to care.

11/11/10 - First acceptance through W&L! It feels good to know I'm absolutely going to law school next year :)

on W&L!!! Now that you've got your first acceptance it gets a bit more fun (comparing offers, negotiations, etc.) Good luck on the rest of your cycle!

Sorry about Cornell, I got deferred this afternoon too. Hopefully we both have a shot in February, although I'm not convinced. Looks like you have plenty of other excellent options though.

From what I understand Texas seems to be pretty GPA centric; I think I was an auto-ding from the start. I was more surprised with Vanderbilt where many other folks with similar numbers seem to be getting in, but no matter. I'm in at some great schools that I love, am still waiting to hear from some other great schools, and am not letting anything get me down (except maybe Cornell, meh). But nonetheless, thank you for your condolences!

Cornell Congrats!

Great for you and CORNELL!

Thanks, congrats to you too! I haven't decided. I'm going to the Admitted Student thing this Friday and then I'm going to choose between Cornell and Michigan. What about you? Cornell, UVA or Georgetown?

UVA is a great school, congrats on the decision. I liked Cornell but I didn't love it. On the other hand I thought Michigan was awesome so I'll be going there.
