Additional info & updates

12-18-05 - Colorado acceptance! What a relief. Decision letter dated 11-29 so that's the date I put above. I guess international air mail takes a while. Decision came in a manilla envelope.

12-22-05 - Emailed Michigan regarding application status. They said it was complete as of 11/28.

12-26-05 - Received acceptance letter from U of San Diego, dated 12/6. No other feedback from them prior to this.

01-02-06 - Acceptance letter from U of Florida! Came in famous gator-skin envelope. Letter dated 12/6. I'm still holding out for Cal-Davis, but other than that Florida seems to be where I'm headed.

01-17-06 - Email from Michigan "apologizing" for not deciding yet, and suggesting that I send them some more stuff.

01-22-06 - Received acceptance from Nova. Don't know when it was sent out so I put an appx. date.

02-28-06 - Called Berkeley today; rejected. Oh well it was worth a shot. They say the decision was mailed out a couple of weeks ago.

02-28-06 - Also called BC today. They said they made a decision but won't let me know what it is. Since my LSAT is borderline at best and the decision date they gave me seems awfully early, I think it's safe to assume it's another rejection.

03-02-06 - Finally got the letter from BC. It's an offer to put me on their "Priority Waitlist". Letter came in a small white envelope and was dated January 6.

03-02-06 - ASU acceptance; called and found out.

03-03-06 - Email from Michigan offereing waitlist position.

03-04-06 - UC Davis acceptance (via online checker). Dated March 2.

03-07-06 - Thin regular envelope from Notre Dame - Rejection. Another thin regular envelope from Vandy offering waitlist position.

06-18-06 - Michigan rejection in thin white envelope. Letter dated 5/31.

RE: Waitlists, why are these schools willing to give acceptances by phone, yet so hung up on letting applicants know they've been rejected when the applicant calls? I called Michigan simply to ask them whether I was still on their waitlist yet they adamantly refused to tell me. A week later I found out I'd been rejected two weeks prior to my call! Idiots.

8-10-2006 - Email from Cornell offering admission off the waitlist. I much prefer Northerh California to Ithaca, however, and the 13th placed ranking wasn't enough to compensate that.

Thanks for the post on my page. Yeah, I was really surprised with how quickly I heard from Boulder. I didn't expect to hear from any shools until mid-December. I didn't contact them, I recieved my acceptance via a large manilla envelope in the mail. I don't think you need to apply to really any "safer" schools. You certainly have some reach schools (as do I), but I wouldn't think you have any problems getting into AZ state, Villanova, Florida, SD and/or Boulder. But then again, better safe than sorry, right? Good luck with your apps! We do have very similar numbers and are applying to a lot of the same schools, so maybe we'll end up in the same place next year!

Congrats on Colorado! That 1st acceptance is always a huge relief...you're going to be a lawyer! Maybe we'll both be at CU....hope the acceptances keep rolling in for you!

Oh no dude they were more than willing to give it, I didn't have to ask. In fact, I believe her words were something like "is it okay if we just told you now?". Good luck man.

hi laurie, No they were pretty cool about it, I didn't even have to ask for the decision I just wanted to know whether a decision had actually been made but they decided to go ahead and tell me anyway. Good luck.
