I definitely feel very blessed for the cycle I am having thus far. But I would love to hear from one of my hometown schools. As I have lived in several cold climates over the course of my life, I definitely understand your desire to stay in the South or head out West. Also the city can be overwhelming, not to mention very expensive, so I find your reasons legit. Doesn't matter anyway, as you'll get into Berkeley and probably Stanford :)
Congrats on UC-Berkeley. I bet it feels good to have your first acceptance behind you, especially at such a great school :)
