Additional info & updates

10/12/07 After a lot of thought I've decided to go and get a master's degree before going to law school. I'm not doing this to improve my academic position as far as admissions, but rather because it's a perfect opportunity and will transition me right into law school. In case your wondering, it will be a M.S. in Sport Management. I then hope to study Sport & Entertainment Law while in law school.

10/3/07 Annual law day was held at my university. Representatives from almost every school on my list were present. I was able to network with the Associate Deans of Admissions for Seton Hall, Villanova and Temple. They all seemed enthused about my aspirations and eagerly await my application. Rutgers-Newark also presented a lot of opportunities as well. They have a minority opportunity program which assists with job placement and curriculum, the diversity on the Rutgers-Newark campus is astounding. Moving on, St. John's has a special considerations program for those who feel that they have been overlooked in the admissions process, that is most likely something I will look into. We shall see how things go!

9/28/07 I finally completed a diagnostic test. I should receive the scores within the next few days. This will determine whether or not I'm going to take the December exam. I wish I had my act together earlier, but things happen. I'm just trying to take care of business from here on out.

9/16/07 I'm going about applying to law schools in an unconventional manner. I am contemplating whether or not I should try and go to law school directly from undergrad or gain some work experience and then apply for fall 2009. My GPA when I graduate should be a 3.05, but if I were to apply to go to school for Fall 2008, my GPA would only be a 2.9. A lot of the decision will depend on my test scores. If my test scores are fairly competitive(164+), I will most likely aim for Fall 2008. I realize that even with an extremely high LSAT score, some of my target schools are a reach. I'm going to apply and let things take their natural course of action.

That was my plan taking a year off as well, not to mention I could use the break from school. Have you taken your LSAT? Good luck this cycle; keep me informed!

I think you will fair well. Spend some time writing a compelling ps. Soft factors really do make quite a difference. if you can hit a 165+ you'll have a shot at some great schools

good luck!

I was really hoping for a 165, but I still have hopes for a few of my reaches. I think we are both applying to a good range though. :) GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
