I am hoping to get into a school with a Federal Indian Law program and a certificate if possible. I am applying to a Prelaw Summer Institute for American Indian students right now and I hope this will give me a boost with admissions. Gonzaga contacted me today and let me know that they will hold my file until I am admitted to PLSI. I'm hopeful and optimistic.
I have been accepted to North Dakota on 4/17/13. I was accepted to PLSI on 4/16/13 and I plan on attending this summer before fall semester begins. Gonzaga Law is holding my application to see how I perform at PLSI and I may still be admitted but I am anticipating some form of a NAIL tuition waiver at UND. UND has my desired Federal Indian Law certificate and excellent clinical programs and opportunities that are hard to pass up regardless of the location. I have sent in my seat deposit and it has been received 4/22/13. I am awaiting my federal aid package.
New Mexico rejected me on May 1 via email but on May 3, an admission dean called me and told me that UNM would like to reconsider my application based on the fact that I will be attending PLSI at their school this summer. I was informed that after my successful completion of the prelaw program I would have a great chance at gaining a seat in this law class! I will be attending PLSI at UNM this summer so I get a chance to see the facilities and live in Albuquerque. I have my seat at North Dakota set but if I am offered a seat at UNM then I will accept it. My concern would then be the debt load and the difference in cost. I have to perform this summer and make a great impression. Gonzaga has also communicated a similiar offer upon successful completion of the program.
We have very similar numbers so I will be watching your cycle closely. Where are you hoping to go? Best of luck this cycle :)
