Additional info & updates

Rankings are personal preferences and include scholarships (or lack thereof). A ranking of 10 means it was a safety.

4/15/09 - Visit to UVA this past weekend decided it for me. UVA it is.

4/2/09 - Withdrawn at Emory, UGA, UT-Austin, Columbia, Cornell, W&L.

4/2/09 - Well Virginia came through with a scholarship offer. I hadn't even considered them and was starting to kick myself for not doing their financial aid. I called up and asked if I could still do the financial aid and they said no problem at all. I'll be visiting the school on my own next week.

3/27/09 - On "hold" at Northwestern.

3/22/09 - Visited Vanderbilt. I don't see how I'll be going anywhere else.

3/12/09 - Will be withdrawing from all but the top 6 as soon as complete the trips to some schools I'd already bought tickets to visit...

3/11/09 - WUSTL scholarship 111000 dollars. That's a lot of money...

3/9/09 - Cornell scholarship via snail mail. I was nominated for their presidential award, but did not receive it. I'll be visiting the school shortly.

3/5/09 - Vanderbilt scholarship via snail mail. About what I expected and I could not be more excited about it!

2/23/09 - Waitlist at Columbia. Well, technically "on hold". It happens.

2/18/09 - Scholarship offer from Emory. I would love to live in Atlanta, but honestly I'm still leaning Texas for now...

2/15/09 - Sent withdrawal emails to ND, IAB, and L&C.

2/13/09 - Scholarship offer from W&L. Looks like I'll be going to visit the school with that kind of offer...

2/06/09 - In at UVA with a phone call from Mr. Dugas. Nice guy, I'm super excited!!!

1/31/09 - In at Lewis and Clark with 25k a year. As good an offer as I could have hoped for from them. Though 250 overcast days a year? Hmm...

1/26/09 - In at Notre Dame with 20k a year. Not bad at all. A competitive offer with those I've already gotten. We'll see what else comes up.

1/15/09 - Dinged for ED at GW, but accepted RD. GW seems like a great program, but money is a big issue for me, so hopefully something will come along later.

1/9/09 - Acceptance at WUSTL via email, with a note that the scholarship committee is considering my application for a Law Scholars Award. If that comes through, WUSTL will shoot to the top of the list!

1/1/09 - Acceptance at UC-Boulder via snail mail. I like the area, hopefully some money will be coming as well.

12/26/08 - In at Indy-Bloomington. Scholarship is 15k a year. Not really good enough to pull me away from my other offers. I will probably withdraw my app soon.

12/26/08 - Merry day late Christmas to me!! Snail mail from Emory. I'm in!! Very excited about this one, I like the area and the school.

12/22/08 - Snail mail from UT-Austin. Scholarship for 9500 a year and instate tuition!!!! Also in at Washington and Lee!! It's been a good day.

12/20/08 - Snail mail from Cornell, and an invitation for apply for the Dean's Scholarship. Hooray!!!

12/18/08 - Email from Cornell, happy holidays to admitted students. I guess I'm admitted then? No snail mail yet.

12/15/08 - Decision at Cornell in the wee hours of the morning. I thought something was fishy when the date of last update changed on the 11th, and now it says I've had a decision since then. Should be coming soon. I'm excited!!

12/13/08 - Scholarship offer from UGA via snail mail. $7500 a year, and with tuition at 13k a year, UGA is suddenly a very very cheap option.

12/13/08 - Big box from Vanderbilt via snail mail. I'm in!

12/11/08 - In at UT-Austin! Got a nice phone call from Samuel Riley in admissions. Thanks Big Guy!!!

12/11/08 - Decision at Vanderbilt. Guess I have to wait several days to find out what it is. Vandy, you could have just put it up online like a normal person, but Nooooo.... you didn't. Just Kidding! Don't hate me please!

11/17/08 - In at UGA, I'm going to go to law school somewhere!

Curious if you heard good news about this yesterday... (Have lurked around your posts on Law School Discussion, so my inquisitiveness stems from that, fwiw.)

You are GT, too!

I noticed that your email is gatech! That's my alma mater, as well (and a rough place to spend four years as a relatively normal female)! Anyway, I'm sure you'll get in to NW with your numbers + work experience. I'm thinking of withdrawing... I lived in Chicago for years and it's way too cold...and NW is too expensive for this poor girl. I'm banking on the Woodruff, really. Congrats on all of your great acceptances. And if I may complain, what is up with Georgia offering the two of us only half-tuition? Must be some Tech hate... :)

"On hold"
Monday, December 01 2008 at 07:00 PM

For the record (you might already know this) "on hold" is different than reserve/waitlist. Since we're on hold we'll get an accept, reject, or WL decision by the response deadline on May 1st. Most people agree that being on hold is preferable to already having been placed on the waitlist. Good luck!
