Additional info & updates

Nov. 20 - Got my fingers crossed for some California schools... I'm going to be applying to the part-time programs at some of my reach schools.

Nov 23. Waitlisted at Barry via online status checker.

Dec 4. Waitlisted at St. Thomas University, Florida via online status checker. Denied at FIU.

Dec 21. In at Florida Coastal. In at Suffolk.

Jan 9. Denied at Chapman.

Jan 21. Denied at Western State.

Jan 24. Denied at Southwestern.

Jan 30. Denied at Cal Western. What a month.

Feb 1. Denied at Loyola. Waitlisted at GGU. Waitlisted at NESL.

Feb 9. In at Thomas Jefferson School of Law.

Feb 12. Rejected from USF via online status checker.

Feb 19. Rejected from UOP via e-mail notification.

Feb 20. Denied at NYLS via status checker. In at Whittier College Law via e-mail. Time to make some serious decisions.

Feb 26. Accepted off waitlist at St Thomas in Miami. Note: the acceptance is conditional, must complete summer course prior to full time enrollment.

March 17. Rejected at Davis. Rejected at USD. Rejected at SCU. I am leaning towards Whittier College in Costa Mesa (nice area, decent institution, 30 minutes away from immediate family.)

March 21. Placing deposit at Whittier.

April 12. Accepted off waitlist at Barry, withdrew app.

5/1/13. Accepted off waitlist at New England Law Boston for PT J.D. program (evenings.)

5/2/13. Got an e-mail from GGU informing me that I am still being considered for the evening program. Still remaining on the waitlist, however.

6/2/13 - Rejected from GGU via snail mail.

Update: Do not let a low LSAT score deter you from pursuing a legal education. I had a low LSAT score and scored in the top 20% during 1L.

Thanks! I am leaning towards Thomas Jefferson or Cal Western. Its hard to leave 42,000 dollars on the table and pay sticker at Cal West. Still debating. How about you?

Congrats!

Congrats on all of your acceptances so far! We have extremely similar stats, so you have helped me see where else I might have a chance at! Good luck!

I would definitely agree! Definitely gives us a leg up with reading and writing. What is your number one so far?

Sunday, January 13 2013 at 07:00 PM

I agree. I looked at TJSL because I wanted to get out of the South and I absolutely love San Diego. I'm not sure either. I am really looking into the Florida schools but wouldn't mind being near family and friends. If you mean emphasis with JD as far as what kind of law I want to practice, most civil rights and immigration law. What about you?

Are you thinking of participating? Have you heard from Barry again yet?

Congrats!!!!

Congrats on your acceptances. I have applied to alot of the same schools you have, I have similar numbers. have you chosen were you are going? How long did it take you to hear from Whittier and Thomas Jefferson?

Civil Rights is great. I would love to go to a school that had an area of focus or specialization in that field. I think we both have had awesome cycles as well. Good luck with the rest of your admissions process. Let me know what your final decision is!

Your GPA is high, have you considered an LSAT retake?

Congrats on your cycle!

Congrats on Whittier! Hope to be joining you!!!

Hi! What made you ultimately decide to pick Whittier over Thomas Jeff? I know have acceptances at Suffolk and Loyola Nola but I practice in California so I think my decision would be between the two. I visited both campus, leaning more to Thomas Jeff but I'm still turned.

I actually paid my seat deposit to Whittier but I am having second thoughts. I also applied to Southwestern recently, yes a huge reach but I went for it anyway...I'm still liking Thomas Jeff more than Whittier for some reason

Hi BroRepresentation, I'm curious as to whether you are currently still on the waitlist to GGU? I ask, largely because under your waitlist status it says WL, Rejected. If you did however get a response/update, was this an email or a letter in the mail?
