Extra Curricular Information

Graduated from UC Riverside in 2006 with a dogshit GPA. Barely scraped through, was on academic probation constantly and wasted most of my undergrad time doing fraternity things, chasing girls, smoking weed and generally not caring about my transcript.

After undergrad went to culinary school and have been working as a chef for the last three years. Tried to include in my personal statement that I have matured, changed, had lots of responsibilities in my job and am ready to get down to it, etc.

Additional info & updates

3/31/10 - Still haven't heard anything from anyone. U of A Fayetteville and Thomas Jefferson don't have online status check updates I guess. Otherwise, everyone else's status checker says some version of "In Review". CalWestern says "In Committe Review" if that means anything different.

4/1/10 - Received a rejection letter from U of Arkansas Fayetteville in the regular mail, regular sized envelope.

4/3/10 - Received a large envelope from Thomas Jefferson today via regular mail, said that I was accepted.

4/7/10 - Accepted at Whittier Law School via email.

4/9/10 - Accepted at Cal Western today via regular mail, small envelope. I see that USD sent out a ton of Waitlists today (not to me, still haven't heard), but I noticed that their graph, which was almost exclusively green dots a few days ago, is now populated with lots of yellows.

4/13/10 - USD Status Checker changed today to Decision Rendered. From reading other USD applicant profiles I gather this means that I should be receiving something in the mail in the next couple days, the status checker from everyone else remains elusively vague.

4/22/10 - U of Arkansas Little Rock indicates that I am waitlisted via their online status checker. Just received a small thin envelope from USD indicating they have rejected me. Cal Western wants their seat deposit money by the end of April so these other schools better hurry up.

4/23/10 - I just called Southwestern Law School on the telephone and asked if there way any chance I could get an update outside of the online status checker's "In Review" status. The chick who answered the phone told me to wait an additional 4-6 weeks for an answer.

UALR is going to cost $7500 a year and Thomas Jefferson and Cal Western cost $40k a year. And UALR is a Tier 3 too.

I don't have a ton of options, I figure I can get an entire legal education for $7500 a year then its a great deal and I'll figure out employment later. I have some relatives who are partners at law firms.
