Additional info & updates

1-28-11: Received my waitlist notification from USF today. I'm kind of surprised. That was one of the California schools more within my range. I'm hoping that this isn't indicative of what I should expect for the rest of my cycle.

2-23-11: In at Santa Clara via the online status checker. As of now I'm between Santa Clara and Southwestern. Will definitely be withdrawing from Depaul and Kent. I saw that my decision was rendered at Loyola as of 2-18-11, so hoping I receive the acceptance/rejection/waitlist letter soon!

2-28-11: Loyola acceptance packet came today! Unfortunately no scholarship, but Loyola has been my first choice all through the application process. Will most likely be sending in my deposit, just deciding between there and Santa Clara. I visited USD over the weekend and did not like the campus as much as Loyola's. Since I'm pretty sure I will not be getting into USC, it's not factoring into my decision.

3-16-11: Just had my Southwestern scholarship interview. They said that I should know in 10 days to two weeks. I'm interested to see what, if anything, they give me.

3-31-11: Found out yesterday that Southwestern is giving me a full tuition scholarship! I wish there was a way to convince Loyola to give me half that much.

4-4-11: Received an email notifying me that USD has put me on their waitlist. Not too dissapointed about this one. The campus was nice, but I liked Loyola's campus better. Now just waiting for the USC decision to reach me, which I'm sure will be a rejection or a waitlist if I'm lucky. The decision was rendered on 3-31-11, but living in Chicago means I generally have to wait five days to get anything in the mail from California schools.

4-5-11: My cycle is officially over. I received the rejection letter from USC that I knew was coming. Overall I'm really happy with how things ended up, although some scholarship money from Loyola would have been an added bonus. Regardless, I will be heading there in the fall and now I'm just sorting out my cross-country move and where I want to live in LA. If anyone has any input on apartments and locations I would love to hear it!

Did cal western include schooly information in original admit packet?

Ann - my completion date didn't change. Depending on what happens with Loyola, USD, and Santa Clara, Southwestern would be a possibility. Hard to say right now. I visited the campus in November and got a good feeling when I was there.
