11-21-08- Applied to CLEO Summer Institute
12-4-08 CLEO application is received
12-5-08 University of Tulsa ACCEPTED. Small Envelope that included information regarding my acceptance, scholarship, and dates for registration and fee deadlines. It's a good way to start the cycle and I know that no matter what I AM going to law school, however, I am holding out for my #1 and #2 choice. Wish me luck!
12-11-08 Contacted University of Nebraska and Oklahoma City University to check the status of application. Oklahoma City's is complete and under review. Nebraska apparently needs additional information and will be sending a letter requesting such in the next week.
....then I came home and checked my mail. I was EXTREMELY pleased to find an acceptance letter from MU! My number one choice totally comes through! I will receive scholarship information under seperate cover. At this point MU is the school for me, but we shall see what happens for the rest of this cycle.
12-20-08 Received letter from Nebraska. Apparently they've changed some admissions guidelines and need answers to additional questions. I'm a little bothered because the answers they seek are in my personal statement. Since I have my acceptance from MU, I'm not sure if I'm going to bother with filling out the information.
01-07-09 Received an email from MU regarding seat deposit, scholarship and financial aid deadlines. Also, decided that I am not going to send the additional information requested by Nebraska. I address the questions in my personal statement, plus I don't think I really want to attend UNL. I read an article about the school that was a bit disheartening.
01-22-09 I received a phone call from Karen Whitaker, Director of Admissions from Washburn University. I'm IN!!!! I will be receiving additional in the mail in the next couple of days. So far I'm 3 for 8 with my first and second choices coming through early. Tomorrow I am taking a tour of MU's campus and sitting in on a class. EXCITING!!!!
01-23-09 The MU campus visit was absolutely wonderful! I spoke with Michelle, the Admissions Coordinator who was extremely knowledgable and answered most of my questions. I spoke with two students who are single parents, which was great. It just so happened that the 3L student I spoke with had her daughter with her. She was a beautiful 5 year old and the folks in the admissions office welcomed her in, offered her candy and something to drink and one of the professors even indulged her in a little converstation about sports. It was really cool to see that they weren't turned off at the sight of a child in the school. The law school is beautiful as is the campus on a whole. I left feeling really confident about my potential for success at MU.
01-24-09 ACCEPTED to CLEO's summer institute. The letter is dated January 17th. I'm excited, but now I have a WHOLE lot more to think about.....
01-26-09 SLU status checker says "Decision made, Letter to Follow." Hmmm, I'm curious!
01-30-09 Small envelope from Creighton, I've been HELD! It doesn't matter. I think I'll be calling to withdraw my application.
02-02-09 I sent an email declining the seat offered at CLEO's summer institute.
02-04-09 IN at St. Louis University! It came in a large envelope and I am being considered for scholarships. Excellent!
02-05-09 IN at Drake in a large envelope. I was awarded the Legal Opportunity Scholarship which will cover 1/4 of Tuition.
02-06-09 Today received a letter from CLEO offering a seat in the AIE program.
02-09-09 Small envelope from UNL. I've been HELD once again. It's all good though....only two more decisions to go!
02-10-09 Received email from OCU advising of my acceptance. Per the email a letter confirming my acceptance and scholarship information is to follow. Can't wait!
02-13-09 Received large envelope from St. Louis University. I've been awarded the Dean's Scholarship in the amount of 36,000.
02-14-09 HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! OCU acceptance letter in a large envelope with 30,000 scholarship! SMOOCHES!
thanks, you too. Do you mind me asking where Mizzou falls on your list of prospective schools?
