Additional info & updates

1 - Extreme reach, almost no chance, but these are my dream schools and I might as well give it a shot.

2 - I have a relatively ok chance. I would say a step below reach.

3 - I think I have a pretty good chance here.

4 - I can get in and be happy here.

A question asked to anyone who would like to answer it: Is it better for me to go to a school like Samford and be in very little debt or, say I get into UNC or William and Mary, and be in a large amount of debt? Does the name mean more?

All Scholarships are per year.

12/11/06 - Samford acceptance. Large, white envelope. Additional letter with invitation to scholarship interview.

12/19/06 - South Carolina acceptance. Large, white envelope. $13,000 a year scholarship offer.

01/17/07 - Samford scholarship offer. $20,000 a year.

01/25/07 - Florida Coastal email. Invitation to visit school as well as another congradulations on acceptance. Perplexed, a phone call is made and questions are asked. It is found out that an acceptance letter and a scholarship offer of $10,000 a year was sent in November. Must have gotten lost in the mail.....

01/29/07 - American University waitlisted. Small, white envelope.

01/31/07 - Tulane email stating that my application has gone to the mysterious "Admission committee" and is under review. I put very little stock in that as I got the same email from FL in early December and still nothing.

Is anyone else as neurotic about this process as me? I check my email and mailbox at least 3 times a day. 3-0-1 so far. That's undefeated! For now....

02/12/07 - UConn waitlisted. Thank God I've finally heard from someone, although it wasn't what I wanted. I dont know about anyone else, but I hate waitlists. They are such teases. Anyway, I can't complain, because I remain undefeated at 3-0-2. Uh, yay.

02/16/07 - FSU waitlisted.Wow, there are no words. Still undefeated, a hollow-feeling undefeated.

03/27/07 - UNC, W&M, Florida rejection. Suck.

If you don't mind me asking, is Samford known for being that generous (60K), or are you a unique case?

money...again...

i suppose i should have specified this in my other post, but is the total for USC, as well as for the other schools, an annual sum, or over 3 years?

Debt

Another factor besides debt and rank of schools is the 'locational' aspect. Say you want to practice law in south carolina for instance... If you go to USC, that is more valuable than moving to SC with an out of state law degree. No matter how fancy the other degree is, you will still not have formed the base of peers from law school who practice throughout the state. Same can be said for most other states.
