Additional info & updates

U Conn is my first choice, although getting into BC or BU might change things.

2/8 Letter in mail from St. John's. I thought it was a "thank you for submitting an application" letter, but it turned out to be an acceptance letter notifying me that I was selected to receive the St. Thomas More scholarship. Not bad for my first acceptance.

3/1 Temple sent me a congratulations email. A few days later, I received a letter in the mail saying that I qualified for a $12K renewable scholarship. With that discount, I would pay approximately the same amount in tuition as in-state residents.

3/2 I checked the application status checker and discovered that I was accepted at Maine. They never sent me a email, but a letter did arrive in the mail a few days later. I need to check and see if I will receive any financial aid.

3/4 I received an acceptance letter from Suffolk. They didn't offer any money.

3/17 I emailed U Conn to confirm that my application was complete since I hadn't heard from them. I received an email the next day stating that my app was complete.

3/18 I withdrew my applications from Maine and Suffolk.

3/20 Attended the Temple Admitted Student Open House. The law school seemed nice enough, but it was in a terrible part of Philly. I will withdraw my application from Temple as soon as I get my acceptance letter from U Conn.

3/24 Emailed BU to see if app complete since I haven't heard from them since 3/1. Rejected at Fordham via status checker. It is my first rejection so it hurts even though I didn't want to go there. I really thought Fordham would waitlist me.

3/25 Received acceptance letter from Northeastern. I was awarded the standard merit scholarship of $25,500.

3/26 Emailed Northeastern to withdraw my application.

4/5 Received waitlist email from BU. No surprise. It will be interesting to see if I am waitlisted or rejected from BC.

4/7 Received call at work from U Conn admissions office. She congratulated me on acceptance and invited me to the open house this weekend! I cannot attend but have a trip planned to visit in a few weeks. Hurray! U Conn here I come! I withdrew from Temple and was removed from BU's waitlist.

4/23 Sent seat deposit to UConn.

Great cycle so far, good luck with UConn. I'm surprised Fordham rejected you, you look like an accept/waitlist for sure.

Congrats on your cycle! We have similar numbers and I'll be applying a lot of the same places. The $25,500 is over three years, right? Any string attached?
