12/22/08: Georgetown status checker changed to decision! My first acceptance would make a pretty great Christmas present...

12/24/08: I got a Christmas card from Georgetown. Confusion.

12/26/08: In at GULC! Not quite in time for Christmas, but oh well. It's good to know I'm going somewhere.

1/24/09: Just got back from visiting Georgetown... and came home to a Columbia acceptance letter! It took me completely by surprise!

2/20/09: Chicago status checker changed to Decision Pending...

2/27/09: UVA sent an email at 9:45pm telling me I'm waitlisted. My first non-acceptance kind of hurts, especially from a school I felt I had a pretty good chance at. Oh well, it's looking more and more like Columbia is where I'll end up anyway... which is definitely not a bad thing!

3/4/09: On hold at Chicago. I'm not sure if I'm going to write one of the essays, but I guess I'll decide in the next few days.

4/6/09: I got a hold email from WUSTL... I'm guessing yield protection? Oh well, I filled out their form saying I declined the hold offer.

4/24/09: I got rejected from Chicago today, but oh well, because I also submitted my deposit to Columbia this week! Yay!

Congratulations on your acceptances! I'm going to be at Columbia's March 4-5 admitted students event - are you thinking of checking it out?

Columbia's definitely a frontrunner for me, though the cost difference with Michigan is kinda scary. I'm going to check out all the schools in person before making a decision, though. But we should swap impressions of the admitted students events, as I'm sure we'll sit in on different classes and such.

the wait goes on..

yeah thats the same way i felt about the score difference. im sure youll be fine at nyu! actually.. you already got into columbia so maybe you should even withdraw to give me a chance :P

Chicago, Columbia, etc...

Thanks for the congratulations; Chicago's a serious contender for Columbia. I still plan to check out all my schools before making a decision, though. Speaking of checking out schools, I'll be at Columbia this week - do you have any questions you'd like me to ask before you make your own trip?

The Columbia Admitted Student's Days were great. I saw two UAH apartments, both very spacious, both reasonably priced. Lenfast was also nice - very modern - but probably too expensive for me. The students were pretty friendly, and during my mock class on Brown v. Board of Education one of the lawyers from the original case dropped by for a chat. They definitely know how to sell the school.
