June 2011: 168
October 2011: 173

I also have a very strong upward trend in my GPA. For the last two years I've had a perfect 4.0 (with the exception of one A minus).

Thoughts about how this will affect my chances of being accepted to a top 5 school??

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
11/21/11

So I think I might be accepted to Georgetown! I'm not sure yet, but the "status date" on my checker has changed from 11/8 to 11/21. I think this probably means that they have mailed my acceptance letter. Time will tell!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

11/22/11

Under review at Harvard!!

I also received an email today from Berkeley telling me that I was 'under review.' I was already 'complete' so I'm not exactly sure what the difference is.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

11/28/11

Accepted via voice message to Texas!! Scholarship information to follow via snail mail. Very exciting! This is a great way to start off my cycle. I'm officially going to law school.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

12/1/11

-I just went complete at Harvard. I was previously 'under review.' Still no interview request, however.

-Finally complete at Michigan! Now I only need to hear back from NYU.

-I received my acceptance packet from UT today. I'm still waiting to get the letter with scholarship information.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

12/2/11

-Accepted to Georgetown via a little wedding invitation style envelope! There was even a written note at the bottom of the acceptance letter. 2 for 2!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

12/10/11

Got a $45,000 scholarship (or $15,000 a year) to Texas today in the mail.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

12/19/11

I was accepted to Virginia today! I got an email asking me to call the dean of admissions. She offered me $25,000 a year!! Very exciting!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

12/22/11

I just went "under review" at Duke. I think that means I might be accepted tomorrow.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

12/24/11

Santa came early this year! I was just accepted to Duke via email.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1/7/12

Just got a call from NYU today! I'm in!

**** GPA UPDATE I sent in my updated scores to LSAC yesterday. My GPA went from a 3.84 to a 3.86 this semester.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1/13/12

I'm in at Chicago!!! So happy!! I got a call just before noon. I missed the call so I only got a voicemail. Technically the person calling didn't tell me that I was accepted. She just told me that there was an update to my file. But they only call people they accept.

***ALSO I was held at Harvard today.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1/18/12

Got call from Penn today! I'm in!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1/25/12

In (probably) at Columbia through a LOOPHOLE on the admitted student website!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1/26/12

Berkeley put me under committee review today. I've read on tls that that means I've got a 1 in 5 chance of getting in.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1/27/12

IN At Northwestern today! With $$150,000!!! They want me to defer a year and get some experience. They told me that they don't care at all what experience it is, they just want me to have some. I have to admit I've never received an email before that promised me $150,000 if I would take a year and do whatever I wanted...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2/16/12

Amen to my rejection virginity. Berkeley just stole it via email after going under committee review a few weeks ago. Meh, Berkeley makes me nervous anyway. Their numbers last year tanked. They dropped to number 9 in the rankings. California has debt problems, and berkeley is a public school. Nope, I wouldn't have gone. So oh well.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3/2/12

IN AT STANFORD!!!!!!!!!!! I got a voicemail and email from Dean Deal around 9 this morning =)

From what I have read, it shouldn't be a problem at all. Be sure to address it in an addendum, especially the cancel. "The girl next to me wore a perfume that had me sneezing half the test, so I cancelled and took the next test that worked out for my schedule" or whatever. It doesn't have to be a bad thing, just mention it in a few lines at most.

wow!

your numbers are amazing! I'm not an expert...but I'm sure your numbers and your extracurriculars will get you into a top school :) good luck!

I didn't prep too much for the jump. I did nothing besides taking maybe 5 simulated prep tests between June and October. The average of my practice test scores before I took the June test was actually 173. Extenuating circumstances on the June test led me to score poorly. But because I had already canceled once, I didn't want to cancel again. So I kept my score knowing it would be low for me.
