Extra Curricular Information

Started my own business of mediocre success.

Spent 250 hours doing volunteer mission work in NC.

Spent a semester teaching at a low-income-area elementary school once a week.

I failed a couple of classes early on, and used "grade forgiveness" to receive A's in both (though the F's still count in LSDAS). Still, upward trend (roughly 3.5 gpa) in last four semesters.

Worked a few part time jobs for the last couple of years.

3rd person in an extended family of over 50 people to receive a degree, and 1st to seek graduate education. (If that means anything)

Took the LSAT twice. I got the same score.

Good luck, everyone

Additional info & updates

Planning to stay in FL if possible. Would help if I got a little bit of $. My entire family and girlfriend lives in the Tampa Bay area. I wouldn't say I'm planning on acceptance from most of my applications, but I didn't want to regret skipping over any options in the future.

The larger the number, the more scholarship money I would feel necessary to matriculate.

-----------------------

11/19 - Applied to all of my FL & Fee waiver schools. Going to wait a week or two before I pull the trigger on non-waiver schools.

11/30- It's been a couple of weeks and I'm checking my status-checkers pretty often. W&L says I'll know by Dec.9, but no other school has really made any reference to a short-term timetable. This entire process is suspenseful and exciting. This website has been helpful to display and organize my thoughts for me.

12/6- Received an email from Miami today simply stating that my status-checker has been updated. I assumed it was a change to something like "in review" but instead found a link to my decision letter. I assumed it was negative due to the plain nature of the email. I read that my application was waitlisted until further notice. This is my first response, and fairly disheartening considering Miami was one of my safer choices. It's making me think crazy things, like "I should take the LSAT again". Planning to hear back from W&L on the afternoon of the 8th, hoping that it will be a little more encouraging.. but not entirely optimistic about it.
