Additional info & updates

Let's try this again...

November 13- So, I have 10 applications down and a few to go. I am continuing to build my list as I am being offered fee wavers, but I really don't know what to think about them. I hear that people are only given fee wavers so schools keep their acceptance rate low. On the other hand, my numbers are up from the last cycle to which I applied and I am being offered a lot more wavers. Who knows...

November 17- Go to the mail box and see a large envelope from Georgia Law. I was excited, but since I was with a friend I wanted to wait to open it. I got the courage a few seconds later and ripped it open. One piece of paper... uh oh. When I read it, the first word jumped out, "Congratulations!" Looks like I got my first acceptance and I will be going to law school next year.

November 21- This time my mailbox visit included a thick flat rate USPS package from Williamsburg, Va. Looks like I'm in at William and Mary with some money. I hope these schools continue to make this a hard decision for me.

November 29- Georgetown sends and email that requests an interview from me. They say it is because of the "strength of my application." Who knows why they really want me to do it, but hey, it cant be bad.

November 30- I'm at work and I get a call from FedEx. There's a package waiting for me from Vanderbilt. I guess we know what that means. When I open the small box and scanned the letter, it said my application has been accepted. For five minutes I was thinking they meant my application was complete and wondering why they sent this stuff. Then it set in... In at Vandy!

December 8- Email from Kentucky and Georgetown interview.

December 15- Email from Mercer with an acceptance. Email immediately after with scholarship award.

December 19- Mailbox visit with Mercer large envelope and small envelope from George Washington. Let me open GW first... You know, the bad news. Wow! Looks like (despite the small envelope) I am in at G-dub!

December 20- Phone call from the Dean of University of Virginia law! "One word, 'congratulations'!"

December 24 Christmas Eve- I was headed to my family's house and checked the mail one last time before I left. There it was, a small envelope from Georgetown Law. I thought, "small envelope... that can't be good." I opened it, first word was Congratulations. Looks like my binding early decision application was accepted and I will be attending GULC, class of 2015. This is the perfect Christmas present.

Since I have completed my cycle, I will not continue to write in the additional information section. I will, however, update as information comes available.

Thanks for the support. I realized we applied to some of the same schools around the same time, so I'm excited for us to receive some great news at the same time as well. Maybe we will even end up at the same school. Good luck this cycle man.

Have you sent in your letters asking the other schools to remove you from their consider pile? No need to hold your spot with your GU acceptance! :)
