Additional info & updates

Started of good with an acceptance letter into my last choice (Thomas M. Cooley which i do not plan on attending. I applied there because it was free and just because...After the fact i came to find out it has such a bad reputation in most law circles.) and then Washington Lee proceeded to open the floodgates to rejection and i must say i do not have a clue what will happen to my law school career in the next few weeks. I am starting to see it go down the drain........................................

Thomas M Cooley (Accepted) 3/5
Washington & Lee (Rejected) 3/10
Penn State (Rejected) 3/17
Villanova (Rejected) 3/17
University of Richmond (Rejected) 3/18
University of Illinois (Rejected) 3/20
William & Mary (Rejected) 3/20
University of Miami (Rejected) 3/23
Hamline University (Rejected) 3/25
Syracuse (Rejected) 3/30

I still have to hear back from a lot of other schools but right now my chances are looking rather bleak.....

"Recently I have been excited because I was going to get my law school decisions back. I have been opening all the letters as soon as they are handed to me. So far i didn't get into my first choices, have been denied by my second choice and rejected from my third choices. To add insult to injury, i have been Wait listed on my back-up to back-up schools. However...i was accepted for a job at Target. FML" (F@ck My Life)

My two cents

You seem like you really want this from all of the schools that you applied to. I know it's disappointing so far with the rejections but I say don't give up! It has taken me 3 years but I finally feel like I am on my way! And if I can do it, you can, too! I see you got a 146, that is not a bad LSAT score. How many times have you taken the LSAT? My advice at this point would be that if you don't get accepted to any more schools (and that is a BIIIG if) if you have only taken the LSAT once to take it again and aim for a little higher of a score to offset the GPA. I could definitely see you getting into at least half of these scores with an LSAT of 150! If you ARE interested in taking the LSAT again, I would recommend TestMasters. I took a class through them and it helped a LOT! Of course, on test day I only got a 145, but it was still higher than my original score of a 142! And for us low-LSATers, every little bit helps! You might also look into the CLEO program. They have lots of good programs for helping students get into law school and they aim towards helping minority groups primarily. If you go to the CLEO website you can get a free magazine sent to you in the mail that describes all of their programs. www.cleoscholars.org. Many people on this website have had to give it a couple of tries before succeeding. As Aaliyah once said, "If at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again." Good luck to you, and best of luck on your remaining schools!

Hamline

I am definitely going to attend Hamline this fall! If you do decide to wait another year, that might be a good school for you to apply to! It is a great school and though they predominately take higher LSAT scores, they are likely to give us low LSATers a chance through the Founders Enrollment program! This is the best program that could have ever happened to me and I feel so blessed and honored to have been given this opportunity. If you are interested in the program you should check out their website, www.hamline.edu/law, go to special admissions and it will tell you all about the Founders Enrollment program. What I love about this school and this program is that they really want their students to succeed so everyone gets a tutor... not like certain other schools where the bottom 20 percent of the class doesn't make it. Congrats on your waitlist to Ave Maria and acceptance to Cooley and good luck on your remaining schools! I am rooting for you so you don't have to do this whole process again!
