Additional info & updates

Scholarship money is per yr. I'll explain the conditions I must meet in order to retain them below.

12-1-09 In at Denver via Email. Took a week to process the decision. Good to have the 1st one.

12-02-09 DU will give me a 22K/yr scholarship, renewable with a 3.0 GPA.

12-06-09 LSAT retake... felt confident but nervous

12-10-09 Small letter from CU. No ED.

12-20-09 In at WFU via email. Still no sign of my LSAT retake. Hopefully a sign of things to come?

12-22-09 In email, in at Penn State. LSAT retake...soon? Merry Christmas to you all!

12-28-09 LSAT Now 168.... Move the chains 1st and 10! Essentially, I have no idea how retakes will affect things, so I'm shot-gunning.

1-4-09 In at Wisc via email.

1-8-09 Out at UVA. Well that was a bad email.

1-13-10 Via email, WFU offered me 30K/yr so long as I keep in the upper 2/3s of the class. Upper 50% I retain 1/2 of the scholarship. Under that, goodbye money.

1-14-10 In at Tulane via email.

1-19-10. Through the USPS, Tulane's offering me $25,000/yr if I maintain a 3.0 GPA. Failing that, it's1/2 amount.

1-20-10. In @ W & L. Nothing about scholarships, from what I can see.

1-22-10? Via Voicemail. In @ GMU. Acceptance package is being sent to me via USPS.

1-27-10. In @ Iowa via email.

1-28-10. Via snail mail. $20K/yr @ PSU, assuming top 1/2 of class.

1-29-10. Via email, $34,000/yr at W & L, assuming 3.0

2-7-10. Via USPS. Iowa is offering me what appears to be a full tuition scholarship, so long as I am in the top 1/3.

2-10-10 Via USPS. GW is offering me $30,000/yr 1st yr housing. Assumes 3.0 Very nice handwritten note on the letter.

2-11-10 Via email. In at UIUC w/ $40k/yr. No GPA or class rank required.

2-16-10. In @ L&C via USPS. Lot has changed since the start of my cycle, so I just withdrew. Good luck to L&C folk!

2-17-10. In @ BU via phone call.

3-5-10. WL @ GULC via email.

3-8-10. In at UW via USPS.

Good luck with the early decision at C.U. I've made the same move in applying to C.U. E.D. - with almost the exact same numbers as you (except that I graduated many, many years before you!) I will leave you a message if I hear anything from the Adcomm.

Congrats on DU. I've been complete since Nov 6 and still haven't heard anything. We're applying to a few of the same schools, so I will be watching your cycle

Congrats on your acceptance to DU! I was very excited when I received that email as well. If you don't mind me asking but, how did you find out about the scholarship?

Congrats on DU

How long did it take you to get your acceptance e-mail from DU after your status changed to decision processed?

congrats! p.s.- I used to go to CU in Boulder! Hated the school but the campus is beautiful!

Too bad about CU, since it looks like it was a top choice for you (I'm assuming since you ED'd). But at least you weren't rejected outright, Just held over to be decided with the rest of us RDs, right? That's a pretty good sign, I think. Hopefully they accept you regular decision (and me too!!!) Best of luck.

I haven't visited the Wolf Law building (figured I'd wait to do that if I get accepted; no point in it before then). But I know I love Boulder, and Colorado in general, so at this point CU is still a top choice for me (probably #1 choice, but wasn't sure enough about that to ED. It's def the #1 school whose rejection I'd be most disappointed by). Anyway, I was having some doubts about CU because of a conversation I had with someone in admissions (just generally got a bad vibe) but if I get accepted, I'll def. give them a second chance! And thanks for your opinion, it's always good to get a differing perspective :-)

Yeah, about 3-4 days. I didn't see any big mistakes on my application, so I've ruled that out. I guess applying as a retaker this late in the game, with my numbers, hurts your chances.

RD. It kinda shocks me as well. I've heard mumors on this great big intarwebs that UVA wants to increase medians to 170+. I think they also look at LSATs "holistically." Considering there's an 8 pt jump b/w my previous LSAT high and my new score, I had the deck stacked against me.

Thank you! With that new LSAT score (congrats on that, by the way)I'd expect you to be one of the first off their waitlist!
