Additional info & updates

Good luck! Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. The admissions game is much more unpredictable than people make it seem. I think my cycle is somewhat indicative of this.

Stats are real now

UCLA decision- 10/12 phone call
Texas decision- 11/5 phone call
Georgetown decision- 11/9 snail mail letter
WUSTL decision- 11/24 email
Cornell decision- 11/30 email
Duke decision- 12/14 email
USC decision- 1/6 snail mail letter

Northwestern decision- 1/7 email. Stuff for future reference because Northwestern has a unique admissions reputation. I was only 1 year out of law school, and my work experience was eh. But my interview was awesome (my interviewer was awesome more than I was, and told me he'd give a good word to the admissions folks on my behalf). I did NOT submit any letters of rec because they wanted evaluations or something.

Penn waitlist- 1/7 email
1/10- Harvard hold, and Chicago WL.

2/14- In at Columbia. I'm shocked, this is unreal. And waitlist at UVA. Note- I submitted to Columbia early october like it says above, and I only went complete in late January because of a transcript issue. I'm not sure if they reviewed my app before that or not, but I got in about 3 weeks after my complete date so i suspect they did.

2/17- Out at Berkeley.

2/25- Waitlisted at Michigan and withdrew. But scholarship at Duke! And updated my school choices to reflect where I'm at in the decision-making process. Withdrew from Georgetown

3/1- Withdrew from NYU. Got sick of waiting and would rather go to Columbia.

3/5- Wow 35k/year from Cornell!

3/8- Visit to Northwestern for Diversity Admit Day over the weekend- I can safely say no law school will have a more impressive admit day. Associate Justice Sotomayor and a bulls game in an executive suite, enough said. No complaints at all, and I know I would be fine going to this school, can't ask for much more. Also withdrew from UT, WUSTL, and Vanderbilt today.

3/22- Scholarship from NW!

4/2- Got back from visits to Duke and Columbia. Both were awesome but I don't think Durham is for me, and I fell in love with NYC.

4/8- First really tough withdrawals. I know I won't be going to law school in LA, so I thought I should give my spot to someone else.

4/11- Duke bumped its offer up from 20k/year ot 24k/year. Helps but I'm not sure if it's enough for me to overcome the weird vibes I got from Durham..

4/12- Harvard rejection. Didn't have a great reason to want to go there except that it's Harvard haha.

4/14- After maybe too much thinking, decided NW was not for me.

4/18- Rejected from Stanford and that brings my cycle to a close! Columbia it is!

4/19- Withdrew from Duke. Definitely the hardest withdrawal (especially with the financial aid that they offered). But I know that I made the best choice for me and my cycle is 100% over now. It's been a fun ride. Duke is an awesome school. If you get in, you should go visit.
