Thanks so much for your good wishes (sorry this is a really late reply). I'm not sure what exactly helped with UW (although I was super surprised / flattered to get in). My impression is that they favor unusual applicants - older, work experience (I work with aircraft), good writers, but the whole process is really just a bunch of voodoo. Good luck - write an addendum. I did, maybe it helped. I'm sure you'll do great!!! :)
