what happened with how your app was handled at Dayton?
Hi there! Congrats on Barry! I'm curious as to how Dayton handled your application. I was rejected this morning yet thought I compared pretty favorably to those who have been accepted, and despite them calling me several times prior to applying. Totally cool if its something you don't want to share I'm just curious.
Thank you. Congrats on Mitchell Hamline and Capital! I experienced the same thing with Dayton. I think my application got pushed to the side after being contacted to apply before the deadline. I did. But I had to send a lot of emails to get it moved to complete. It took over a month to convince admissions that my application was complete and ready to review. The whole ordeal really discouraged me from wanting to attend.
Thank you!! Really needed to hear that! And congrats
Congrats! I have similar numbers and have been really discouraged with this cycle. We applied to similar schools minus Barry and UNH. I also was harassed by Dayton and only for them to deny me without any explanation. Mind you they contacted me non stop both the admissions team member and their supervisor. It must be their tactic to do this to everyone. Yes it only takes one yes...hoping my yes comes in next cycle! Good luck in law school!!!
You're welcome, and thank you @IPAttorney2021! Keep going, keep fighting. If this is your dream, go for it. DO NOT GIVE UP. I'm confident you can do it! You've got this!
Thank you @futurelawtina313, I really appreciate it! I have heard so many crazy stories about Dayton. I'm all about positive energy and encouragement. Dayton just did not give me a good feeling at all in the application process. Your yes will come! If I tell you how many times I've had doors closed in my face for all kinds of things, you wouldn't believe it. Nonetheless, I kept going because I know that I am more than what you see on paper. My faith and confidence in my abilities have kept me pushing. I am resilient and a steam roller. I will make a way out of thin air from absolutely nothing if I have to. Keep going, keep fighting. Use your discouragement to fuel your drive to come back next year with stronger numbers or a stronger application. If this is your dream, fight for it. Keep going. Your future clients will need someone JUST like you in their corner.
Thanks for your words of encouragement and a great reminder to keep pushing! Congratulations on your acceptances. Best wishes as you embark on your 1L journey.
Congratulations on your acceptance to UNH. Is your $25,500 scholarship per year or total?
The 2019-2020 Admissions Cycle has been crazy. I've gone through the GRE and the LSAT-Flex for the first time during COVID-19. I've been waitlisted, rejected, and admitted. I've scored well below my average PT scores. I have had so many ups and downs this cycle, right alongside you all. This message is for all of the law school hopefuls with extraordinary stories and unique perspectives. If I had not gotten into a school this cycle, I would have kept pursuing this dream. Don't let rejections stop you from pursuing your dream. Don't let rankings stop you from applying elsewhere. You are not any less intelligent than anyone else. Let your low GPA and/or your low LSAT/GRE score be the fire needed to keep the momentum going. You deserve this just as much as anyone else. Sometimes schools are unable to see greatness in you. Those aren't the kind of schools you want to be a part of anyway. You want the schools that give you a chance because they think of you as an investment and great asset to their law program. The schools where you can shine in your truth and don't have to overcompensate for your stats. Most people with stats like ours are discouraged from applying to law school. The law school hopefuls who do apply, like us, are resilient and ambitious with everything to prove. Keep fighting. Keep going. Don't give up. You've got this. You can WIN. You WILL win.
