Additional info & updates

-Out of school for 8 years.
-I'm hoping my work experience and nice recs will get me in.
-Taking the Feb. 10 2007 LSAT. Told all schools to hold until those scores come out. Can't hurt considering that starting this year I've been told that schools take the higher of two LSATs.

12/19/06 - Fordham dinged me. It's a sign that I don't belong in NYC anymore.

3/2/07 - $#&!, only 2 pts. higher second time around. Oh well, I'll take it.

4/11/07 Got an email from Pepperdine today inviting admitted students to their open house this Fri. 4/13. Wasn't sure if this was a true indication that I got accepted, so I called the admissions office to confirm, and SHAZAM I'm in!! Woohoo! I'll be going to law school somewhere at least!

4/14/07 Regular size envelope from Loyola.... waitlisted. Oh well. I think I'm leaning toward Pepperdine anyhow, same ranking as Loyola and seems to be on the rise. Better scenery too.

4/28/07 USC rejection. Oh well, I was expecting it.

5/21/07 Gave UCLA a call, officially dinged. No worries, Pepperdine here I come.

Southwestern

You might want to add Southwestern to your list. The school is well respected in SoCal and has attorneys at all the major firms. 156 will be REALLY rough as most of these schools have median LSATs in the 160s. Not doubting you can do, I am sure you can and will, just saying Southwestern would be a good fallback for you.

I actually emailed USC to complain that they didn't wait for my Feb score, they wrote back apologizing and saying they'll re-evaluate my app.
