2/4/09 Rec'd email from asst. dean of U. Denver with acceptance notification. Not sure if add'l info is in snail mail. Will call 2/5.

2/5/09 U. Denver packet in snail mail. No award pending FAFSA completion, but it doesn't look promising for a scholarship

2/5/09 Boulder completed my application. Says they might not have an answer until May. May????

3/4/09 Spoke w/Financial Aid at U. Denver. No scholarship award in first round. FA says to wait until April for second consideration.

3/4/09 Rec'd acceptance packet from Lewis & Clark. No scholarship. If this trend continues, law school will not be an option.

3/11/09 Rec'd large envelope from CU Boulder. Also rec'd email notificaiton of acceptance. No scholarship.

3/12/09 Rec'd large envelope from Indiana Bloomington. $45,000 over three years. Non-resident tuition is around $48,000, so that still leaves me with $33K or so per year in private loans. I need to decide if borrowing $33K per year to move to Indiana is better than borrowing $36K per year to stay in Colorado. Not happy.

3/23/09 Rec'd email from U. Denver notifying of $21K for 3 years.

3/25/09 Rec'd snail mail letter waitlisted at William & Mary

3/31/09 Rec'd email from CU Boulder -- no scholarship

Lewis and Clark should be on your top list for environmental law -- by far the best program in the country

Good luck!

Congrats on your acceptances, too! Re: your question about merit-based financial aid, I didn't know what to expect going in, so I can't really say I'm surprised. That said, it's a little odd that Temple offered me a full ride and noone else has offered anything. Not really sure what to make of that. Anyway, best of luck with the rest of your apps!
