Visitor Comments
As of today, February 24, I have visited McGeorge's campus once and have attended one of their alumni events. I am making arrangements to visit more schools in March for admitted students' days, class audits, etc. I also plan to appeal at the end of March Hastings's decision to not award me any merit-based aid.
Hastings informed me today via email that I would be receiving their standard $5,000/yr need-based grant
On March 21, I officially submitted an appeal to Hastings re: merit-based aid. I asked that they match Tulane ($27,500/yr) which I reasoned is fair given rankings, job placement, and similar costs of attendance. I think it is unlikely I will be awarded this amount as the median scholarship for the Class of 2022 was $20,000/yr but I figured I have nothing to lose. I won't attend without more financial help from them.
On April 12, Hastings responded to my appeal and offered me $10,000/year for a total of $30,000. I need to remain in the top 75% to retain this scholarship for 2L and 3L.

Thanks so much, @Lawtina! Right now, it's between Hastings, Tulane, and McGeorge with Tulane in the lead. I'm going to ask Hastings for more $ but I doubt they will give it. It's SO expensive. If I can get off the waitlist at San Diego, Loyola-LA, or Davis, that may change things as well. Trying to buy as much time as I can to see what these schools are going to do for the fall with corona still lurking about. Idk if you're applying this cycle but wishing you the best!
On January 9, SMU emailed me and said they were moving my file into the regular decision pool as they would not be admitting me via early decision. Interestingly enough, I didn't apply early decision.
