Extra Curricular Information

Took some time off...taught high school English and coached for several years...had some kids. Probably should have gone to law school ten years ago. So it goes.

I guess that's not really extracurricular info, though, so...I ran track and cross country in college. That's about the end of it.

Additional info & updates

Any scholarship amounts are for all three years.

Holding applications until retest in Dec. 2010.

11/23/10 - Well, sort of. Several of my applications are of the "I assume I'll improve my LSAT" sort.

12/6/10 - Test is Saturday. This will be my second time at it. Tested last February, received my 158, had a crap cycle, reset. Should I have tested in June or October. Yes. However, my PT average is up to a 163 (as in, every single PT I've taken except one - a 162 - has been a 163). I will be disappointed in anything less than a 163 come Saturday.

Also, hoping to hear from Mizzou this week.

12/9/10 - Took PT 61 this afternoon. 167. Word up. Actually getting more than 5 hours of sleep is pretty useful.

12/11/10 - LSAT taken. Now the wait.

1/3/11 - and still the wait.

1/6/11 - LSAT in. 162, a 4 improvement. I was hoping to hit 163-165, but I'll take. Who's the big winner? This guy.

1/10/11 - Applied to Iowa. Under review at Mizzou and waiting for Loyola to receive my LSAT score. Slow going...

1/12/11 - Added Oklahoma today. I don't know that there will be too many more applications. Very different from last cycle.

1/19/11 - Just got the call. In at Mizzou. SOOOOOO nice to have an acceptance.

2/3/11 - Mizzou scholarship letter today. $27k over three years, so long as I stay in the top-50%. So, pretty much going to Mizzou.

2/14/11 - Decided to withdraw from Iowa - with my numbers, I'd be paying sticker and I can't justify that amount.

On the plus side, in at Denver by email. This was a surprise; not that I'm in but when I went to the status checker this morning it said I'm not even under review yet.

2/17/11 - Just dinged at Oklahoma. What the heck? It doesn't actually affect my decision, but still.

2/18/11 - And just like that, cycle is over. Accepted via Status Checker (with scholarship consideration) to Loyola New Orleans. My daughter lives in New Orleans for at least the next few years, so this might be a consideration depending on that scholarship.

3/14/11 - Withdrew from Denver. No scholarship = no go. Still waiting on Loyola scholarship consideration.

4/07/11 - Submitting my deposit tomorrow to Mizzou.
I have nothing good to say about Loyola New Orleans.
