Volunteer at a homeless shelter and have been an adult mentor at my local elementary school.

Worked in structural engineering for four years after getting an AA. Then went back for my BA in a completely unrelated field.

-11/17 - accepted at UT via status checker.

-11/23 - accepted at DePaul via email, no word on scholarships from either UT or DePaul. Also, had Northwestern interview this afternoon, which went rather well.

-12/01 - received scholarship info from DePaul today, $25,000 a year with a 3.2 stipulation. Now on to more waiting and trying to focus on finals and papers.

-12/09 - received my Michigan status checker!

-12/10 - accepted Dayton via phone call.

-12/11 - accepted at UCLA via phone call on a Saturday!
and 5 minutes later, waitlisted at Michigan via status checker. I feel like I'm trapped in a glass case of emotion!

-12/12 - sent in an app to Vandy last night and Illinois today. I swear I'm done with applications.

- 12/16 - Not waitlisted at Michigan! Apparently, there was a glitch with my status checker. There is still hope! Full in-state tuition scholarship to Toledo.

- 12/23 - accepted at Indiana via snail mail with $120,000 total!

-1/4 - Vanderbilt decision sent, I'm nervous.

- 1/6 - In at Vanderbilt via giant package!

- 1/13 - In at William & Mary via status checker. In at ONU.

- 1/14 - In at UIUC with $90,000 and received package from W & M offering $12,000 per year.

- 1/20 - Received an email requesting interview with GULC alumnus.

- 1/24 - In at Notre Dame via US Postal package with $60,000!

- 1/27 - Held at Northwestern. Thinking about writing about having dinner with Snookie.

-2/2 - Held at Columbia and I could not be more excited!

- 2/3 - Had phone interview for Georgetown.

- 3/8 - I've been a little lax about updating this recently, but a lot has happened. I was put in a special group on the preferred waitlist by Georgetown (whatever that means) and waitlisted at Virginia both via email. Today I also got accepted at Cornell and yesterday I received scholarship info from Vandy with a total of $77,000 over three years.

- I visited ND on 3/7 and was impressed by the school. However, I tried negotiating for more scholarship money and they would not budge. ND was my first choice going into my cycle, but now the chances are slim to none that I will end up there. I also attended IUB's admitted students day and was really happy with the visit. Seeing as how IUB would suit my career goals, is in a better town and offered double the $, they have moved ahead of ND. I still have to visit Cornell and Vanderbilt.
