LSAT Predictor v. Reality
- Let's see how reliable this thing really is

Cornell- Deny___Waitlisted
Duke- Deny____ Denied
Emory- Deny____ Waitlisted
Fordham- Deny___ Accepted
Georgetown- Deny____Denied
Harvard- DENY___Denied
University of Illinois- Consider___Accepted
Northwestern- Deny___Held Over
UPenn- Deny___Waitlisted
SMU- Consider
South Texas- Strong Consider___Accepted
University of Houston- Consider__Accepted
University of Texas- Deny_____Denied
Vanderbilt- Deny
Wake Forest- Consider____ Accepted
Washington & Lee- Weak Consider___Waitlisted___Denied
William and Mary- Deny____ Waitlisted
Baylor- Consider____ Denied

The predictor is okay. But I don't know its true accuracy because I didn't pursue anywhere I was waitlisted. It's just not worth the effort when I've alreadybeen admitted into T-25 with an amazing scholarship. In other words its nothing but a prediction. IT can and often is wrong don't let it determine your future. Be the master of your own destiny, unless you're trying to go to Harvard then your screwed.

Enjoy your cycle. Over and Out.

Additional info & updates

Was a bit nervous about the whole process, hence me applying to almost 20 schools, but hopefully I'll be okay. I had an LSAC fee waiver so I didn't pay any of the application fees so I figured what have I got to lose? Only time will tell.

Special Fee waivers from Cornell, Duke, UPenn, Baylor, Illinois (Champaign), and Saint Johns. I didn't apply to St Johns though, but I think I might as well.

1/18/2011 Around this time I applied to all schools, although I applied to a few about a week sooner.

***Updates***
1/20/11 WL at Washington and Lee, they responded quickly and it wasn't my top choice, but it does hurt for this to be my first bit of news on the trail. A bit discouraging to say the least.

1/21/11 UT, UPenn, William and Mary Application complete email recieved

1/25/11 Got an email from Baylor informing me about their summer program. I already submitted my app. Are they tryna tell me I'm not getting in as a Fall applicant? Are they hinting at a rejection? I'll keep y'all posted

2/04/11 Accepted at University of Illinois! Email from the Dean with a scholarship! SOOO Excited was one of my top choices.

2/07/11 Accepted at South Texas College of Law. No word on a scholarship. I like the school because of its location but not one of my top choices. It was really more so one of my safe schools, but it really feels good to be accepted.
--- Also got an email from Washington and Lee that says that they are working on "pearing" down their admissions list. Email says I should be receiving a status update by the end of the week.

2/11/11 Dinged at Washington & Lee via email. No problem, I wasn't really all that interested anyhow. Rejections don't feel as bad after you've already gotten in somewhere.

2/25/11 Dinged at UT. Man that really really really stung. I can't even lie. May not be living in Texas after all.

03/04/11 Held over at Northwestern. Pretty excited about that, it's not an acceptance, but It's not a rejection. I'll know by early May according to their email.

3/10/11 Accepted at the University of Houston with a nice email from the Dean. No mention of scholarships yet, but I may be willing to consider them we shall see.

In other news: Cornell and Emory sent me emails to let me know that my application is still in review. Sort of on pins and needles for Cornell. They are what's keeping me from sending in my seat deposit to Illinois. If they let me in and the money's right I'll go.

3/15/11 WL at William and Mary. I was once really looking into them. However, things have changed. Still might see what happens, but I think I'll withdraw so I don't waste people's time.

3/18/11 WL at UPenn. A really great school and I think I may have been interested. But since I've been accepted at Illinois I'm not as interested in any school that decides to not just admit me. Why shoud I do this extra leg work when I'm already somewhere I wanted to be? It will take admit sholarship to make me budge.

3/18/11 Rejected at G-Town. Oh well.

3/22/11 WL at Emory. Meh.

3/28/11 Rejected at Harvard. Not surprised.

3/29/11 WL at Cornell. I really wanted a direct admit decison, but as I said before I love Illini and I don't think its worth my time trying to get into schools from the waitlist. I have to plan my future now and the decision is officially made.

Go Illini

4/08/11 Or so I thought. Admitted at Fordham. No idea what to do.

I'm already set on Chicago. I've already submitted by seat deposit. I hope you have a good cycle. Don't let a WL from W&L discourage you. I'm sure you'll do just fine.

There's nothing like getting that first acceptance and knowing that you will be going to law school somewhere! Don't worry! You'll get your first acceptance soon! Good luck and be sure to tell me when the good news has arrived.

Chicago

The decision came down to UIUC, Chicago, UC Berkeley, and Georgetown for me. You're right UIUC did give me a lot of money, but the employment prospects are much better at Chicago, including its national reach. I also preferred Chicago over G'town and Berkeley because I have family in Chicago and I love the city. Don't get me wrong, UIUC was a tough one to turn down and it is an incredible school. However, Chicago places nearly its entire class in either prestigious firms or judicial clerkships.

Still Waiting... kind of...

Illinois is currently my top choice, but there are two schools that could potentially change my mind. They would have to give me some form of scholarship though and since they're also reach schools, it's not likely. Possible, but not likely. So I guess I am still waiting.

thanks
