Additional info & updates

Scholarships are 3 year totals.
Hoping for T-14!!

11/11 In at Washington and Lee. Good way to start the cycle.

12/03 In at Ohio State! This was a really quick turnaround decision. Also in at Fordham today! Very nice!

12/10- Georgetown Acceptance today!! Unbelievable! The note from the Dean was a great touch.

U of I also today via e-mail. The Dean offered a full ride! ($120,000) Complete scholarship guaranteed for all three years.

12/14- Withdrew from Ohio State today. At this point the decision is leaning between U of I and Georgetown.

12/15 Vanderbilt acceptance today!! Yay!

12/16 Tulane acceptance! Renewable scholarship over 3 year period worth $105,000

12/20 Early Decision at Chicago!! Here we go Chi-town!!

Cycle Over. Withdrawing from remaining schools.

12/21 In at BU via phone call!

12/22 In at GW via email. Merit scholarship worth $105, 914 along with $16,000 housing stipend for my first year.

12/23 Received $105,000 scholarship to Minnesota. This would have been very tempting if not for the ED to Chicago.

1/10 Withdrew from all schools, but apparently still admitted via email to Berkeley. I better contact them again.

Seat deposit submitted to Chicago! Now, it's time to get acclimated to Hyde Park.

Received a $15,000 scholarship to UChicago. Not bad at all, every little bit helps.

If you would like to PM me, feel free to do so.

Signing off,

What do you think put you over the top at G'Town? I have the same LSAT, but don't expect admission. Your gpa from an Ivy I'm sure was of great benefit to you.

Very exciting day for me, but I know Im going to have to figure the money thing out. Nonetheless UVA is one of those transformative acceptances, if you will.

Most definitely! I am extremely grateful for the opportunity. Btw the folks who will scoff because of their personal ineptitude are absolutely irrelevant. Keep being successful and you'll find a few of them around every corner.

My favorite line on your profile was this, "My predictor has and forever will be our Father above." It's so true! Good luck with your law school search! Blessings,

man you have had an amazing cycle. I hope to be just as blessed. Have you decided on where you want to go for sure or are you still thinking about it?

Congrats!

Congrats on the cycle man, and good luck at Chicago this fall!

Thursday, December 23 2010 at 07:00 PM

I'm 99% sure I'll be at UVA this fall. I loved the campus, the COL is cheap, and the students I met while visiting seemed down to earth and had nothing but good things to say about the school. You know, I use to get upset and delete comments like that on my page, but now I just keep them for motivation.

Thanks for those kind words I appreciate them. I have a few questions for you. Why Chicago? Illinois gave you so much money and you got into a lot of schools what was the deciding factor for you?

Saturday, December 11 2010 at 07:00 PM

Thank you boss. I disregard those people. I am feeling good about my choices. I am hoping to be able to visit Vanderbilt before choosing in March.

Hey I just saw then news I'm very happy for you! Congratulations, I'm still sitting on this Illinois until I get word back form UT and Cornell. Extremely excited for you, congrats.

Question!!
Wednesday, December 15 2010 at 07:00 PM

I really want to know how it is you came to the decision of Chicago over UIUC. I recently just got into Cornell, so now I'm choosing between, Cornell, BU, Minnesota and Iowa(full tuition scholly). I want to do Biglaw, prestige, and work in the East coast preferably when I graduate... how did you get yourself to turn down that money? I keep scratching my head trying to figure out how am I going to afford an Ivy league school or a school like BU (with the cost of living ,etc). But I truly feel that I belong at one of those schools. I just want to know, what tipped you toward Chicago?!

Thank You!!

@godfavor1911- Thank you for your kind words! I really appreciate it. I'm looking forward to accomplishing my many goals. All the best to you!

Hey, Congrats on your acceptances. Good luck at U of Chicago, I am sure you will do well.

Friday, December 24 2010 at 07:00 PM

Aww man I really was hoping to see you at ASW in Berkeley well have fun at Chicago. Great cycle.

Wednesday, December 15 2010 at 07:00 PM

Is your Chi scholly 15k per year or 15k total?! regardless, it is better than nothing. And I think you're right. Employment prospects do outweigh the heavy financial aid packaages. I will have to base my final decisions on visits. you will have no problem paying back your student debt with a 160k salary. Goooooood lucckkk!!!

crossing fingers
Wednesday, December 15 2010 at 07:00 PM

I'm crossing my fingers for a merit scholly from cornell this week!! we shall see. It must be nice to know exactly where you're going and have your mind at rest. lol It was stressful enough trying to get into these schools and now that I am in, it is even more stressful deciding where to go!

Wow

Your profile is so inspirational to me! I was discouraged to apply to many of my dream schools because of my numbers but seeing your cycle has showed me anything is possible! Thanks for sharing and congratulations on your acceptances! :)
