Hey Mirnu, Several factors influenced my decision to apply to Drexel and continue to complicate my decision process. Location automatically placed the school on my application list. Since I'm from the greater Philadelphia area, I pretty much blanketed all the local schools. I could definitely see myself practicing here after graduation. Drexel further rose in my rankings after I chatted with an admissions rep. at my college's law school fair. Out of all the representatives, he was by far the most enthusiastic about his program and the most personally engaging. He really emphasized the sense of community at the school, and the commitment of students to building Drexel's reputation together. The mention of money didn't hurt either. I'm pretty convinced the school would provide a positive environment and will grow as a reputable institution in the Philly area. That being said, my other acceptances and scholarship offers have definitely changed my options. While I haven't 100% ruled Drexel out, I'm looking elsewhere--including Temple. I think it will be a good school but probably not for me. Good luck with your cycle and let me know if you have any other questions.
I'm from the Philly area, and actually went to one of your schools listed for undergrad (won't say which one though!). I applied to Drexel mainly because I knew I was going to get a load of money, and because if nothing else, I wanted to stay in the Philadelphia area. As soon as I got into W&M and Georgetown though, I knew I had to turn them down. Then when Penn came in, I couldn't have been happier. I didn't even bother with PSU because right now Dickinson has a crap reputation, and employers in Philly will go with Villanova, Temple, Drexel and Penn grads before they do Dickinson ones. You can't beat Temple for trial advocacy, and Drexel is too new to know how its grads fare in the job market. PSU should be your last resort unless you want to work in Harrisburg. Any more questions PM me and I'll be happy to give you more details.
