Additional info & updates

Since I've largely abandoned updating this profile, I'll add a quick summary of my end-of-the-cycle activity.

I've been accepted everywhere except Columbia, where I'm still in admissions purgatory. Can't say I've been proactive in getting off their hold list, as I only sent in a LOCI at the end of March.

I had to contact Cardozo in order to get a decision regarding my scholarship/admissions status. The dean has been very accommodating since then, it just took a little effort.

Scholarship offers have started to trickle in as well. A late Wilson nomination from Penn--interesting since most people already received their offers. We'll see.

02/21: "Hold" at Columbia. Despite my very lucky cycle, I must admit it stings a bit. Time to start drafting a LOCI.

02/20: Phone interview with Cardozo for scholarship. Originally received the request two weeks ago. I haven't seen any evidence of other applicants being interviewed for money, so a bit peculiar, but the director was extremely nice, the conversation was easygoing, and full tuition would definitely influence my decision.

Decision pending at Chicago. No phone call. Can't particularly see myself in Illinois at this point, but I'd like to option.

02/17: Penn! My original first choice, Penn! Status checker went to "Decision Rendered" yesterday, and I anxiously clung to my phone all afternoon. Received a short but friendly phone call a little after four. Thrilled.

01/28: In at UVA! Very nice to have to school as an option for this fall.

01/27: Voice mail and email from UVA Admissions asking me to call back tomorrow.

01/26: In at Widener via status checker.

01/19: TS2! I. am. so. happy. Harvard. Law. School.

01/16: Temple package. Beasley scholar--full tuition.

01/15: TS1. Poor connection and trembling voice but otherwise okay. I want one of those last, few authentic Toby Stock acceptance calls. Please, Harvard, pretty please!

01/14: Amazingly eventful day! After GULC status checker going to decision on Monday, received my acceptance. I've heard about Dean Cornblatt's little notes a thousand times, but it really is nice to have a personal message. Good job. And then...purple envelope from NYU. Struggled to get that thing open, eventually resorted to tearing it in a desperate attempt to see my fate. So excited by acceptance, and surprised by NYU's prompt decision. To top my day off, in at Temple via status checker. Maybe I did do something right on my applications...

In other news: still no TS1; I'm actually thankful for work and its welcome distraction.

01/12: Received Duke packet, hurray!

01/09: TS Email. Overwhelmed. Thrilled. Complete Disbelief. Last couple of weeks have been painful, as I invested to much hope in the idea that acceptances would be quickly rolling out post-holidays...today made it totally worth it. Let the neurotic waiting begin.

12/22: First day of retail work post-fall semester left me exhausted and slightly frustrated with the Christmas season, but I ran to the mailbox when I saw a priority mail envelope...in at W&M will substantial money. Ecstatic. Check my email still super excited to find "Welcome to Duke Law." Way to come through priority track.

12/15: Finally complete at Duke. I'm priority track, so I should have an answer in 10 days...except their website contains one caveat: any application completed during the week of December 15 will receive a response after January 5. Gr.

12/12: Following a flood of Drexel emails, finally found my way onto the school's status checker...I went complete today, my acceptance packet was sent on 12/10, and the decision was rendered on 12/2--slightly backwards, yes, but I'm in! Call from admissions offered 30 grand a year, wow. This is going to be difficult.

12/10: Maybe the stress of finals week has gone to my head, but I finally decided to apply to Harvard...I've been debating this decision for quite a while, but I decided to front the 75 bucks today and press send. Cheers to dreaming.

12/09: The harassment of my professors and LSAC has paid off...all LOR have finally shown up. Ready, lets go!

12/04: I'm going to law school! Thank you Villanova.

12/02: In an attempt to procrastinate and battle/fuel my stress, I've applied to a few more schools. I tried to pick some middle-tier schools to balance out my application portfolio.

12/01: 1/3 LOR in the system. 1 MIA.

Girl, you're going to get into some AMAZING schools with your stats. Don't even sweat it! I would kill to have your LSAT score.

Heck ya...that only stress you will have is deciding between Ivy league and free school! Best of luck on your cycle!

The only two I applied to were Temple and Widener. Drexel doesn't really have what I want to study, and Nova and Penn would never take me. Haha!

Thanks and good luck to you.

Hello there: I applied and have been accepted to Drexel. I have not been able to find to much information about the school since it is so new. Questions: With your great LSAT and GPA what was your main motivation to apply to Drexel. I would like any information (goo, bad, average) that would help me to make my decision. Thanks,

congrats!

Congrats on Widener. That is a great accomplishment! Are you planning to attend the harrisburg or delaware campus?
