Considered many schools for purposes of getting full scholarship. Surprisingly was very impressed by Willamette so I dropped the east coast schools off my list and am waiting to apply to my backups. I am probably not a good comp for anyone to look at, as my softs are very strange (major socio-economic challenges). Some schools will place huge value in them, and some won't care at all. Going to be interesting!
(10/12/2018) Received full Presidential Scholarship to Willamette via phone call. This school has been great. Going to make it hard.
(11/30/2018) Waitlisted at UW via email. Going to shoot some hail mary's to UCLA and Cal.
(12/7/2018) Waitlisted at ASU via email. Filled out waitlist application.
(1/9/2019) Accepted at Oregon via email. Scholarship info to come on 2/1/2019. Check your spam folder for this one. (2/1/19) Offer came in.
(1/15/2019) Rejected at Berkeley via email. Beautifully written rejection :)
(1/25/19) Rejected at Penn State. I believe they couldn't forgive some trouble I got into when I was younger. Their loss.
(1/17/2019) Received admittance + scholarship to Seattle U. Will be accepting. Going to be a Redhawk! I will keep this updated and going for future reference though.
(2/12/19) Turn of events, received an email from UCLA asking for an interview. Weird! They don't generally do interviews. Wondering where this is going. I know I said Im committed to Seattle U, but I definitely wasnt expecting movement here.
(3/1/19) Admitted at UCLA as well as into the Epstein program. Cannot even think right now. Unbelievable! This was a pure reach.
Thinking the only explanation is that they were intrigued by my background and found it valuable. Received my information in the mail, and my admittance is contingent on me accepting admission into the Epstein Program. So it looks like I slipped in the back door.
