Additional info & updates

Scholarship totals are for three years.

Kentucky scholarship increased from 45,000 to 66,000 after negotiation.

Marquette scholarship increased from 45,000 to 87,000 after negotiation.

Chicago Kent scholarship increased from 90,000 to 105,000 after negotiation.

I am also applying to Virginia but I am not adding that info here because someone with my numbers likely won't get in. I probably won't either but I do have a lot of personal connections to the school, some of whom may be able to exert some influence on the admissions committee.

Looks like you were successful with your negotiations! Any tips? I tried to negotiate with Marquette but they told me to ask again before Orientation. What's your secret haha. What school are you leaning towards?

I was probably helped at Marquette by having visited (from a considerable distance) and by being above the 75th percentile for both GPA and LSAT. My letter to them did not mention any difference in scholarship awards but did point out the significant cost of attendance between Marquette and the other schools I'm considering.

I have tried to negotiate ships successfully to some schools, while other schools wouldn't budge. It's dependent on the individual school, but additional scholly offers to show them is very important. Just be respectful and explain your situation.
