*Unique and extensive internship opportunities. Interned for a professional baseball team for a year, a mayoral campaign for a summer, a presidential campaign for a bit, did research for a professor one summer, interned for the CA State Controller, and was accepted to a DoJ internship with the DC Metro Homicide Unit as an undergrad but wasnt able to go because my security did not clear until after the internship was over (fucking government!) .

*Four years of sports club leadership experience, including two years as Head Coach.

*Five years of playing collegiate Club Roller Hockey and Baseball

*My essay was about the mental toughness I derived from the strength to recover from a near-fatal camping accident when I was a junior in High School. I lost a kidney, had twelve fractures on six vertabrae, etc., Came back to letter on my varsity baseball team 6 months later. Mental toughness breeds success.

*Letters of rec from former employers yet no academic letters.

I am a strong believer in carpet-bombing the spectrum of schools. I had no idea how strong my application was so I applied to all the types of schools and every possible school in CA which I might be accepted.

I am very curious to see how schools approach my GPA.

I like to have options.

2/1/08 Whittier (acceptance): Scholarship offer came with acceptance letter. Sweet! ONE FOR ONE, baby! I am for sure going to law school!! I have six months left. Time for a bucket list!

2/11/08 Drexel (acceptance): Phone call acceptance! They accidentally called my mom who promptly freaked out. Wish I could have seen her face, she never gets a call like that. Two for two! Bad news will surely come soon.

2/19/08 Cleveland State-Marshall (acceptance): White envelope, thick.
Acceptance and an offer of $5000 a year. Letter was dated 2/14/08. Exciting!

The back-up schools are taking shape like I expected them. Bigger schools are coming with their likely rejection letters soon. Doesn't upset me, I am going to law school!!

2/22/08 Syracuse and Creighton came through today! Solid! Both came in hard to miss packaging. Syracuse had a t-shirt but Creighton had a scholarship. Both also had personalized acceptance letters. As if the acceptance committee didnt just hand my app to a law student and say "here, plug-in something to increase our yield." Tricky! Pretty stoked, going to call my mom.

2/23/08 (rejection) University of Denver- Balls! Denver rejection. Fuck Denver! Haha. Five for six, now.

2/25/07 Depaul- Bitch! Another rejection! Alright, the picture is getting clearer...

02-27-08 Chapman- Waitlisted. What an interesting process.

03-03-08 Thomas Jefferson- So, I got an email inviting me to accepted students day but I have yet to receive an acceptance packet? The first sentence of the email read something along the lines of "you've by now obviously received your acceptance packet..." Are we sure about that?

03/05/08 Ohio State- My applicaiton status went to "decision" on their page, which in my mind only means denied. I wont update until I receive confirmation but I am 90% sure I got dinged.

03/07/08 Pacific- Alright, back in the game! UoP sent an acceptance packet and offered to pay for books. A solid deal. And it's local for me. Not a bad option at all, sir. UPDATE: On March 15th I got a letter for scholarship for 10 g's! Throw your hands in tha airrrr...

03/08/08 John Marshall Chicago- Apparently, John Marshall sent a letter of congratulations to my mother at my permanent address. I have as yet to receive any confirmation from JM themselves but I'm sure its coming.

03/14/08 Arizona State- Rejected. If I didn't see that coming I wouldn't deserve to play in the game. Another day, another dollar.

3/14/08 Golden Gate- Accepted with Scholarship and Admission to the Honors Lawyering Program. A backup option for the bay area. Will Withdraw shortly.

03/15/08 Rutgers Camden- Waitlisted. very interesting! I might have to work for it!

I missed a few posts but I got waitlisted at Buffalo which is sweet and dinged at Santa Clara and at BC. The BC was expected but I thought I had a better chance at Santa Clara. So far, the school's on the East Coast have been my mothers milk.

I also decided to withdraw from a bunch of places.

Oregon rejection came dated to almost 10 days ago. Took awhile to get to me. Disappointing but the picture is almost totally focused on UoP now.
