Good luck with your apps this cycle.... i already see your acceptances in the mailbox!
Sorry i wasn't logged on.... that last post was from me!
Thanks.... well it wasn't as difficult as you might think when all the apps pre-fill alot of the information for you, i just had to proof read and fix some of the formatting issues. Rutgers doesn't not specify the length of their personal statement. Mine was 3 pages long if that helps.....
I put N/A..... and when if i had a nice attachment already prepared I would say "please see attachment" for like your work experience and extera curriculars stuff, unless it specifies to use the space provided first, and then add an attachment.
i am a NY resident. i see that you have 2 NY schools on your list. i'm in the NYC area, so I'm closer to Rutgers than i am to Buffalo. are you still going to apply to Buffalo? the admission office told me that they start reviewing apps in January.
I applied there cause i was initially interested in IP (specifically sports and entertainment law). But i recently found out that in order to sit for the Patent Bar Exam you have to have a science background. Which sucks for me wanting to do IP.
Hope you are giving very serious consideration to the University at Buffalo Law School ! It is a VERY STRONG Tier 2 school with some of the highest placement stats in the USA. I'm a first year student there and all my profs are Ivy League law school trained...my Criminal Law Prof wrote the text !
The tuition is so low because it is the ONLY law school in the entire State University of New York System. They added 5 spectacular faculty this year and will add 5 more next year. They are a school ON THE MOVE !
I opted not to write additional "diversity" statements for any schools I applied to (unless they required it) b/c I pretty much made that the focal point of my well written personal statement. My theory is unless you have something substantiative to say or add that was not already covered elsewhere (ie your personal statement) then don't write it. I think admissions committees could read through any BS you throw at them so if you have a choice, have them "wanting" more from you rather than giving them an additional statement that my potentially view you in a less favorable light. .... but of course thats just my opinion.
Thanks for the positive comments. Too bad I can't get you to write a recommendation. :)
Yeah, I wrote an addendum by explaining despite of my history of low standardized tests, I still managed to earn an undergrad degree, and two graduate degrees. Moreover, I wrote also a diversity statement about how my father came illigally in America, and later on, when he became a legal resident, he filed a petion for my siblings and I to come to America also. Additionally, I talked about since coming to America, I had to work full time to take care of myself ,and also sending money back to my mother in Haiti. I have a very unique history which shows that I overcome obstacles in my life.
Yea I got an email stating my app was under review then the snail mail letter came a week later. Good Luck with this cycle!
Yes, a couple of schools passed it along, but I have not applied for it yet. I've been SOOO busy.
Hey... the status checker for Denver is at myweb.du.edu. They will send you login information when they are about to review your app I believe. I got it a few weeks after I submitted. Good luck with your cycle.
you mean "ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship" right? i got it a couple of days earlier. good luck with your apps :)
Thanks for your note indicating your very strong desire to go to University at Buffalo Law School. Wish you the best. Keep me posted.
I did receive it but I'm not applying for it because I'm not eligible based on my income. Hope this helps.
Yes I am.
I applied to the early admissions program but they really did not get back to me to let me know my file was complete until I contacted Karen in admissions, she confirmed it was complete. Although they declined my early admissions app, I am now in the running for regular admissions and have only gotten one letter stating I am pending but nothing resolute. How is your process going?
Yes, I received the email from Buffalo Law regarding the ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship. I am preparing that application now.
Well i graduated undergrad spring 05'. I thought about not applying to law school until I realized that I really wanted to go........ Loyola Chicago would be a sweet place for me to study, but i don't wanna get my hopes up cause im not in yet...... wish me luck!

All correspondence w/PSU has been by traditional mail thus far.
My correspondence with PSU was as follows: e-mail saying my file was complete. I believe this was on 12/13. I got an acceptance letter from them on 1/10 by regular mail in a small white envelope. They said more details to follow. Other than that there has been no further correspondence.
It was a letter... good luck.
I got a big envelop with a letter and a shirt. It was nice because it was my first acceptance letter..except for baltimore and syracuse, no schools have send out a letter ......good luck...hope we're classmates.

My correspondence from Tulsa was through mail. For Indylaw, I applied to the part-time program, because I was trying to maximize my chance of getting admitted due to my low score. It has been a couple of days I don't check my mail box due to the fact that I go to work very early, and get home very late...by the time, the post office is already close. I will go to check my Mail BOX when I wake up later on (Saturday) to see whether I receive some additional great news or bad news. lol
Only contact I had with Tulsa regarding a decision was through the mail. I e-mailed their office to make sure my file was complete, and they responded and told me it was. If they said a decision has been reached, you should be getting the letter in the mail very soon. Hopefully it's good news!
As far as correspondence with Tulsa, I received a letter via regular mail shortly after I submitted my application to let me know it was complete. Then, about a week later I received a thick, regular-sized envelope from them via regular mail. Hope that helps.
rutgers-newark notified my via email first and then sent large white packet a few days later. Is rutgers your first choice. We applied to a lot of the same schools; good luck
Hey, they sent me a package to my current address. Good luck with your cycle.
I received an email prior to receiving a letter via USPS. The mail was slowed by a holiday, so the congratulatory email got to me first. Regular envelope, nothing special.
i received an email about a month and half after i sent my app that had a user name and password for an online status checker...the status checker never says you're in or not, it just says whether or not you're complete. good luck with your cycle! i'm sure you'll do great!
My top choices are Florida State, Florida, Colorado, and maybe Oklahoma. If I get into any of those, I'll probably go even without a scholarship. Barring that, I'm thinking I'll end up at either Arkansas or Mississippi. Both are pretty cheap, are good looking law schools (lots of IVY LEAGUE credentials... just like everywhere else...), have decent football programs (what? I need some sort of entertainment), and are at their state's flagship universities, so I can deal with that. Plus I like the South and wouldn't mind staying in either state after graduation. Denver and Miami are great looking schools, but I can't justify spending 3-5 times as much to go to either of them, which would be the case if I don't get a scholarship down the line. Syracuse cut me a pretty good deal, but they have some pretty intense Winters, and I'm not down with that. Albany will need to give me a ton of cash, and I'm indifferent to Indiana. So, in short, we'll see what develops in the next few months, but I'll probably end up at either Arkansas or Mississippi. What about you? Where are you hoping for? Good luck.
I got a letter from them.
hey we're applying to some of the same schools... best of luck with your cycle!!! :)
My app was screwed up by LSAC...I applied in late October & it was mid-December before they listed me as complete. I finally got access to the status checker but it still never showed anything other than complete-ready for review. It still hasn't changed but that may be because I'm waitlisted. Good luck!
I was notified by a regular standard white envelope. It was a one page letter saying that I was waitlisted. It came in at the end of the week.
Hey, Syracuse sent my a huge packet with a folder full of information AND a free Syracuse law shirt! They also included a very nicely written, personalized letter.
They let me know via a regular mail. Came in a standard, lightly thick, envelope.
they sent me a decision relatively quickly in the mail. it came in a thin white envelope.
Actually I sent in my application in like November. I will re-update my page so that it makes more sense. What I have right now is that they made a decision on one date (i forget which date) and then it was postmarked 3 days later.
Hey there~ I have seen your post at dominrrican's page and mentioned about ICLEO, and I'm comming here to ask u about that.. Did u apply for ICLEO Program or plan to apply?? Or, did they(any ICLEO administrators) e-mail you about that program??? Actually, I'm interested in applying ICLEO and I'm an international applicant as you... Where's ur nationality?? (I'm from Korea) And good luck on rest of your cycle... best wishes,
I sent separate e-mails to CLEO (National Program) and ICLEO (Indiana CLEO) to ask whether I, as an international applicant am eligible to apply its program and possibly attend.. And the National one (CLEO) said "Yes," but couldn't get a reply from ICLEO though... If I get any response from ICLEO I will update U... Regarding applying to the Program, I didn't apply any law school for this yr's cycle and will have plan to take Jun LSAT and applying schools after that.. Therefore, for me, I will apply either CLEO or ICLEO or both for next yr.. Again Good Luck for your cycle... Best,
Yeah I did actuslly get that email too. Its funny cause I spoke to Patricia Keeney (director on the email) when I applied and asked questions about there (non conditional) summer program. she suggested to me that I apply to ICLEO, so I think I will. Its free! The only thing is that if I get in and deicide to attend then I won't be going to national CLEO program. We'll see what happens!
Hey first off i'm already here. I'm actually a 2L HAHA. I still like to play on these forums though and help out prospective applicants. The different b/t the two summer programs are 1. the schools program lets you recieve 2 law school credits and a grade to start out your law school gpa. Sometimes if you are from out of state the school will pay for the program for you. The Indiana Cleo program is a program which incorporates people from all over Indiana who will attend different law schools in Indiana. You can get a 5000 dollar stiplend and I hear that the cleo program is longer and gives you more information. The law school actually promotes the Cleo program more, i don't know why though, maybe so they don't have to ask so many people and pay for them to take the summer program. I personally like the school program b/c you get 2 credits and they come in handy. haha ok well good luck with your cycle. Keep me posted!! Ciao
As I recall, I got an e-mail from Buffalo about the receipt of my application. The e-mail said that my application will soon be reviewed at the time.
I was notified pretty earlier, about 2 months after I applied. Is Buffalo your first choice? If it is, I might be seeing you in August....I hope you get in. GOOD LUCK!
The acceptance came in a big white envelope. Along with the letter, there was a note with a password to access 'Inside Law' page, where you can look up Preview weekend info & connect with other admitted students. It's pretty neat.
OSU notified me by mail. I got a letter saying my application had been "preliminarily reviewed. The admissions committee wishes to give further consideration to your file and will review it again in March."
Hawaii set a postcard with the 'complete' box checked...there were other options like 'info needed', 'payment needed', etc...goodluck...
greetings Iwill, I can't remember if I received a completion letter in the mail. I think I may have. If you aren't sure, and are worried about it, I would just give them a call and ask. Hope that helps.
i was advised of my acceptance via a phone call. I dont recall them sending me a 'complete file' notification
No if you are accepted into Icleo that does not mean that you are accepted into IU-indy, although it increases your chances of acceptance. Tell the school that you were accepted into ICLEO and still would like to attend IU-indy. They sometimes will wait to see if you complete the program until they accept or reject you. Most schools just add it into your file that you will be attending icleo. Icleo will not let you attend their program unless you are in law school, some law schools will let you know by the time icleo starts whether you got in. If you get into Icleo email the addmissions and let them know. Hope that helps. Any other questiosn directly about the program should be asked to icleo reps. T
They sent me a medium sized envelope in the mail with a catalog. No mention of scholarships however. Not sure what is going on with that shit.
MSU notified me by mail. They never told me that my file was received, complete, etc. They just sent me something in the mail that said I was accepted and enclosed a letter with my scholarship offer.
I received a packet in the mail from michigan state.
OSU called me and a letter arrived about two days later. No scholarship information in the letter, but it did encourage me to apply for a couple. Good luck!! Go Bucks!
they send you an email with a link to it...in the email there is an ID number for you. its pretty lame they haven't sent you this yet. have you called and asked about it? hope you hear something sooN!@
I got a small white envelope in the mail. Your online status checker doesn't say anything. However, I knew the letter was on the way because online it no longer gave the status of my application.
They sent me a letter in a large white envelope. I hope it goes well for you. It's a good school but I'm going to withdraw. You'll probably get in without my help though.
Small envelope, snail mail. No online checker. =) GL.
hey there.. i received a postcard from them that said i was complete...

hey there.. i received a postcard from them that said i was complete...
My Denver waitlist notification totally caught me off gaurd. I checked the status check religiously but it never changed from "complete-ready for review." So, when I got a letter from Denver, I was pretty surprised. It came in a thin white envelope and pretty much said that not many people would be admitted off the waitlist. I called DU and they said most waitlist accepts will come in the summer.
I'm going to be going to UW madison I think...its close to home and i've been across the country for a few years so i'm ready to be back closer to home
I called them last week and they told me that they made a decision and told me what day they mailed the letter. They notified me via snail mail in a white square envelope containing a pamphlet, admissions letter and scholarship letter. I'm sure yours is on the way, good luck!
Thanks for the congrats! Everyone's already told you this, but I found out by snail mail in a medium sized envelope. Good luck on all your apps!
I don't remember exactly. It said "ready to review" for awhile. Then when I went back in to check it after I had been admitted, but before I knew about it, it had numerous other options than were previously there such as registration, financial aid, etc. I then received an email from them the next afternoon notifying me I was accepted. Good luck
Hey, Thanks for your message. I noticed on the status checker that it changed to First Professional when I was accepted, if that helps. Good luck throughout the admissions process!
The status checker will be gone when the decision is made. All you will see is your general information...but the line about your status will be gone.
I don't remember too well the difference. However, I recall that the status disappeared once I received my decision and First Professional, Juris Doctor, and Autumn Semester 2008 appeared, if that helps.
I'm pretty sure that all it means is that you've gone complete. They can pretty much take as much time as they want actually reviewing your file.
It was just a regular envelope. One peice of paper inside describing the waitlist process.
I'm not really sure where I'm going yet. That will depend on my responses from SMU and Houston. How about you? Where do you want to end up. I actually don't think my Denver status checker ever changed. It was pretty useless.
Denver notified me via snail mail to my perm/current address. Status says nothing about a decision. What is your LSAT? I feel like you should have a good chance. Either way their admitted students day is March 28th so hopefully I'll see you there!
I got an EMail from Hawaii too about being considered for PT Evening division. I know they just got ABA approval for their PT program. Rutgers sent me the typical small envelope saying thanks for applying blah blah blah.
I did not receive an email from Buffalo about me being complete until I emailed them. It looks like you are applying to some great schools. Good luck to you!
The status checker told started off with application in review, then it moved to decision pending, and finally it moved to decision made. OSU calls all admitted applicants to congratulate them before it sends out the letter wich will come in a small, thin envelope. I see you have some great schools in the mix, Good luck this cycle! Maybe we'll see each other in Ohio!
It took OSU nearly a week after I received an email stating they had received my application to get my information onto the application status check system!!! I am a current student which means all of my information is already on file and that should have been a breeze. I wouldn't worry a great deal about not being able to access the system yet; it doesn't provide all that much information anyways!!! Good luck on your cycle
Thanks, I got notified through snail mail from Hastings. I'm not sure where I'm going yet, probably uiuc or boston, but would love to get off ucla waitlist. Good luck!
They notified me via snail mail in a small white envelope. I'm sure yours is on the way! Best of luck.
admitted... you will be able to login after your admittance
No, it doesn't. The status checker is really unhelpful. Good luck, man
Per the DU admissions office: "We do not send any decision notification through myWeb; however whenever we enter a decision in our database you will see a change in your status."
Tulsa let me know via mail my rejection. They seem concentrated on LSAT numbers. I did not need to check it online. They will let you know eventually. Does that help?
Yeah, the tOSU's app checker is working <a href="https://newman.uts.ohio-state.edu/admissions/appstat/Adm_AppStatus.cfm" title="https://newman.uts.ohio-state.edu/admissions/appstat/Adm_AppStatus.cfm" class="data">https://newman.uts.ohio-state.edu/admissions/appstat/Adm_AppStatus.cfm</a>
They didn't tell me about their status checker until I was already accepted. But I did check it and mine was blank too.
I recieved my L&C status checker login info awhile back, but I got my acceptence letter before the status checker was updated beyond 'app complete'
Hi, I saw that you're an international applicant. Have you received any envelope from Buffalo containing international application and financial statement? thanks, and good luck to your cycle!
Nope, as far as I know, I don't think there is an online status checker for Buffalo. is there? I didn't even have received completion notice from Buffalo thru email. Have you? I think it's little early for me to decide what's top choice for me.. :)
I'm still thinking Arkansas or Mississippi unless one of my waitlists come through, and even then, maybe still Arkansas or Mississippi.
Thanks for the message. My Syracuse application was completed sometime in November(end of the month). I was notified by mail on Valentine's day. For now, I'm leaning seriously toward Buffalo because of the in-state tuition benefit and the fact that it is a fine school. However, if I eventually get into Northwestern, I will be going there. Good Luck!
Hey there - I only received a login and password to see that I was complete and check on the status of all documents, not to see if I had been accepted or not (or see a decision). Good luck with them!
Yeah, I can access all the other stuff. I just can't access the Housing App. I really think it may be because I called and said that there was a rumor that if you could access it you were in. Right after I said that it seems they disabled the app. Conspiracy Theory?. . . Probably!
Oh, I didn't notice that you didn't post your stats. I probably wouldn't have commented. I don't think people should create accounts until they are ready to post numbers. You non-number posters are serious conspiracy theorists. Anyway, Good Luck!
I actually talked with a lady at the LSAC Forum in Houston. She called me the following Monday to notify me of my acceptance and money. Come to find out it was dated 10 days prior, and had been in my mailbox all weekend. White packet.
How's the process going? What is your first choice? You have a good list here....
with the rest of your cycle. Which school is your top choice?
The online status just confirms that your app is on file. It came in the mail.
They rejected me by snail mail, small envelope, seemed pretty standard.
Even though I have not completely made a final decision about where I will be attending in the Fall, Buffalo law seems pretty strong right now. In truth, if I do not get into Northwestern after they make a decision on my application, it will be Buffalo!
Thanks for the inquiry and good luck...I have my fingers crossed for you. Can you post your stats?
How are you doing? Have you heard anything from Michigan State Iwill?
I received an e-mail a week ago from the director of admissions. It was a general e-mail to be patient with the process. They have a lot of applicants, and it may take awhile. Did you receive that one? I hope that all is well. Look forward to hear from you.
I have not heard from Indy. Once it happens, I will update my profile accordingly. Is Indy your first choice?
Did you apply for LEOP? They seem to be taking a while as well. The committee is new this year at Hastings, so it could go either way.
Have you thought about applying to SLU's summer institute?
It is either Utah or Buffalo. I have to come to terms today and figure it out as seat deposits are due. I feel very fortunate to have some great choices. Looks like you have a lot of pendings which hopefully will turn into acceptances! Good luck with the rest of the cycle!
I'm still waiting to hear from Colorado, which should happen in the next few weeks. If I get in there then Colorado probably, if not then Lewis and Clark. Good luck with the rest of your cycle.
i havent decided yet... if i dont get off an my WL's or get an acceptance from the deferral i recieved at rutgers newark, i'll be heading to Seton Hall... buuut, if i get off the lists then it really changes things because I like all the schools I'm waitlisted at. whats your #1?
for stopping by my page. I'm not yet sure where I will be heading next year. I'm still waiting to hear back from as many schools as I can before I have to start submitting seat deposits. My dream school would be Chicago, but that is probably the "wildest dream." I'd be exuberantly happy with UC Hasctings or even SMU-Dedman. Who know... your guess is as good as mine right now. ;)
But im definitely leaning towards University of Indiana-Indianapolis! Im going there open house next weekend so i'll let you know!
Hi again. I realize you may be anxious with all the waiting, and I also realize that there may be many a students who are dying to have my spot from several other schools. I am well aware of this fact. However, I cannot hasten my decision purely for their sake. There is a potential for me to receive scholarships from L&C, and if I get to find out before the deposit deadline, L&C might be well in contention of where I might be heading next year. Hence, why I have not withdrawn my application. I am not trying to hoard all the spots in every school possible. I know I can only attend one (at least one at a time...). But I want to make the best informed decision possible. I am in the process of narrowing down and have been sending out my withdrawal letters. Perhaps L&C will be among them soon, but I don't know enough yet to let you know. I'm sorry I couldn't help you out. I know the wait can be draining, but hang in there. As for Indy, it came through snail mail.
withdrew today.
Hi, I thought you'd be interested to know that I have mailed my withdrawal to L&C (as well as 8 other schools). Best of luck with remaining schools! ;)
How am I supposed to know that? Well, I do not know. I wish that you would have said," I hope that we get in, but oh well."
I spoke with Indy rep... No, they have not filled the 1L class yet.
on IU-Indy... hopefully you get my spot!
Hey! They notified me via mail (the dreaded small white envelope). I hate to be rejected but after the god-sent acceptance at Loyola, I wouldn't have gone to Hawaii anyway. Good luck with the rest of the cycle.
Not at all necessarily..... I think there are still many seats left in the class but for the most part they know alot of students considering other schools have seats deposits they need to make (usually mid April-early May), The open house just allows them to sell themselves to students who need to make their final deciso0ns real soon. And the students who don't end up accepting their offer just means they have a more seats to offer other students....... just wait it out. Good luck!

With Hastings your guess is as good as mine..... i truly have no idea but im not keeping my hopes up. Its LEOP is really really competitive.
If I end up going to Indy Law (as all indications now are pointing that way, unless UC Hastings or Loyola or Northeastern give me a call... then i'll have some tough decisions to make)..... If I do the summer program then thats runs from mid july to mid august..... if I do ICLEO (in replace of the summer program and if I get accepted to ICLEO) then ICLEO runds from mide june to mid july.......
i'm still not sure where i'm gonna go. there are 8 schools that i haven't heard from yet & i have to decide if i'm willing to move (sell my condo, make my husband switch jobs, etc). if i decide not to go to indy i'll withdraw as soon as possible. good luck!
They notified me by US mail.
Hey I'm sorry to hear about the way that your cycle is ending up. Don't give up... you know my first cycle. I went 0 for 11... yes all rejections, I took the LSAT again and got like 10points higher, I got a tutor and I took more practice exams. You can do it. You also will have to change up your schools next time and apply to school where I got into and where other people got into with lower numbers. I see you didn't even apply to Cooley. Sometimes you hvae to just go where you can get into and take it from there. I would have gone anywhere a couple of years ago. Do not give up if it is your dream to be a lawyer. Good luck with everything.
the deposit deadline for hawaii is may 16 I think.
A batch of LEOP decisions is coming out this week. I wish you the best of luck. HOw did you hear from Indy?
they are not going to even consider me for their summer program......sucks~
Yeah, I called them this morning. I will hear from both Indy and Hastings later this week. Cross my fingers for me. Don't sweat about Indy man. Hastings is still pending for you.
Not sure if you will hear this week. You could give them a call and kindly ask your status. I know that they are sending a batch of decisions this week.
Hastings LEOP: rejected. In terms of Indy, I don't care. I will probably go to SLU. Keep me posted on your cycle.
Iwill - I didn't apply to thru the LEOP. In retrospect, perhaps I should have. Keep your head up. Like you, this was my first cycle--it can be brutal on the psyche. Good luck w/Hastings!
I'll be starting Lewis and Clark's evening program this September. I applied part time as my first choice, then the day program as my second choice.
I got jacked by snail mail.
Good luck on this process man.
Thanks for the message, and happy studying for the 2 weeks we have left. About half of the fee waivers were unsolicited "apply online" fee waivers, and the others, I got by introducing myself to recruiters at law school fairs and the LSAC forum. Then a couple of them came in the mail because i requested information to be sent to me.
