Additional info & updates

2/09/2009: 3 for 3 so far! I've been getting a ton of stuff from Richmond in the mail, but no decision yet. Without a scholarship from Miami I just can't afford it. Hopefully I'll hear back from some of my top choices in the next couple of weeks.

Scholarship are per year...

2/17/09: Accepted at Creighton today with $10,000/yr Dean's Scholarship. Maybe I squeeze some more money out of Campbell now. I don't really think my wife and I are willing to head out to Omaha.

4 for 4!

I'm thinking more and more that I want to go to Penn State. Tuition is high, but it's only about 8.5 hours from home and within 3 or 4 hours of lots of big cities like Baltimore, DC, Pittsburgh, Philly, and NY. Plus, since I want to do public interest law (DA's office) they have a nice LRAP to help pay off the loans.

2/20/09: In at Elon via USPS. 5 for 5!

2/25/09: In at Stetson and Oklahoma. 7 for 7!

The next 7 letters will surely bring some bad news, I'm afraid.

3/13/09: In at Louisville. 8 for 8! I called Tennessee this week and they said they would have a decision by the end of the week. I'm nervous. Then again, I'm hoping to at least get a waitlist, as they are my first choice right now.

3/25/09: WL'ed at Tennessee and Denver. 8-0-2. Withdrew from Denver. I'm going to send LOCI to Tennessee, as they are my top choice. I'll even name my first kid Peyton if they want.

Also received $20,000/year from Elon. Sadly, I don't have enough information about them to really be able to consider them right now.

3/31/09: Looks like I'll be in Happy Valley in August! I went to the open house this weekend and I really felt at home in State College and the school.

I haven't withdrawn from OU or Stetson yet, because my tuition deposit isn't due until the 15th, so I'm gonna wait to see if there's a miracle waiting in the form of cash.

I'm also gonna ride the WL at Tennessee and probably FSU if I'm so lucky.

4/1/09: Withdrew from ASU and Stetson today. I'm disappointed in Stetson. Only about 10% of their applicants have both GPA and LSAT at or above their medians...and my numbers are at or above their 75th percentiles...still, I got no money. The wife and I really wanted to end up in Florida next year.

Hey, it's the girl from the TLS forum. I added you to my watch list. Good luck with your cycle! And let me know if I can answer any questions about SC, in particular. =)

Hey, thanks. Good luck on your cycle, esp. OU! A fair warning if you weren't already aware, but OU has a pretty ridiculously high unoffical in-state student quota is likes to meet - set around 85% - so out-of-staters are have it relatively pretty hard compared to us in-staters...Hopefully your softs and grad work will set you apart! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

That 15k offer was for 3 years. I got an e-mail notification and then a letter in the mail a few days later. Are you an in-stater for UNC? What do you think our chances are? We have fairly similar numbers.
