Additional info & updates

Took Dec + Feb LSAT

received = date LSDAS report originally requested

Taking the Feb LSAT has help up my file A LOT. Am very nervous....

3/28: Waitlisted @ Wisconsin in letter dated 3/24/05. Very sad, will keep my fingers crossed.

4/8: Received 2 denials in 1 day (ASU + MN).

4/21: Got the ding from Illinois.

4/30: Waitlisted @ IUB in letter dated 4/26. 1 of approx 200 on the list. Still hopeful.....

5/2: NG at Georgia.

5/6: Got 1st Acceptance @ Pace.

5/11: WL @ SJU. UGH! I'm going to stay on WL and ask to be considered for PT program as well even though that is not really what I want to do. Considering Hofstra is over enrolled, I am thinking that is not going to come through. And w/ no word on $$$ from Pace w/ it being a T4 school, I'm not sure if I'll go. Maybe LS is not in the cards for 2005. :( Gotta pray for those WLs!!!!!

IU

So if you get into IU, are you going to go? My numbers are similar to yours, in that I have the same index number that you do. My GPA is higher, but I have a lower LSAT. I was hoping for a waitlist letter, but after you said there's 200 people on the list, it really doesn't seem like it's a great hope to get off of that list. I'm surprised you weren't outright accepted, since you already have an MBA. Congratulations on getting that. Where was it from? Although I was accepted at two schools, I withdrew from one 2 weeks ago and the other I really have no interest in attending. IU is my first choice by far, I visited there and loved the school. Anyway, good luck to you. Hope we both get in.

I don't know what caused the offer to come in--I did call them and ask them if there would be any scholarship money offered ($32,000/yr seems pretty steep to me for Pace!), saying that if I could not swing $96,000 for law school. They told me that all the money was given away already, but she would check and see if any $$ came back into the pool. (I guess sometimes people decide not to go to Pace and put the money back) Then, over a week later, I got 2 packages, one of which was a merit scholarship letter called an "Academic Achievement Award" in the amt of $8500, renewable if I keep a 3.0 or higher. If at any point I go below 3.0, I lose the whole thing. I am thankful that they found some money for me, but I'm still not sure it's worth it. I have a few weeks to decide where I'm going and what I'm doing. Oh well, I hope this helps! I would definitely call them and see if they can send you some $$$ too! -wj
