I got accepted at Penn State via email. They said scholarship info will be sent soon. It was nice to get a acceptance to start off the cycle!

Do I go to UC and pay 15,000 in tuition a year, or go to NKU for only 5,000?

Trendy, I have been stalking your application like many others who have applied to similar schools as me, and I am biased, but I say go to UC. Going to a TTTT in this economy is tough, and if you do not get top 10% things will be bad. I know NKU grads to get hired in the Cincinnati area but I do believe UC grads are more desirable. Hope this helps and best wishes on your decision.

Is UC worth 30,000 more? I am struggling with this. I like UC's programs, location and everything else more but I have a family so graduating with 30,000 less debt is so tempting.

What about attempting to negotiate with that scholarship? Given the two schools are in the same area perhaps they would be willing to up your offer. Worth a try - just explain to them your financial situation. The ony thing they could say is no.

@ Orion I tried that and it didn't work.

I am sorry to hear that did not work. I just read about them not willing to negotiate with schools such as NKU, Dayton, etc. I am not sure where to head right now though I am seriously considering UC. We have a lot of similar schools with similar scholarships. Personally I am very hesitant to take a TTT or TTTT in this economy and may end up at UC. As you said earlier, it gets increasingly more complicated with a family in the picture.

I talked to a UC grad today who is actually a judge. He told me that both schools have good reps in the area but UC is more well know nationwide. When I told him the scholarship difference he quickly told me to take the money and go to NKU. I thought since he was an alumni he would push UC but he didn't so now I am really leaning toward NKU because I am planning on staying in the area.
