Additional info & updates

1/20/08 Rejected by Depaul

2/5/08 Deferred until April 15th by Samford.

2/12/08 Wait-listed at LUNO

2/27/08 Finally received my first acceptance letter from UALR! Normal sized envelope stuffed with welcome info. Should get that scholarship they promised accepted applicants who applied before Jan 15th. UALR moves to the top of the list. LUNO is out of the picture. Still waiting to hear from Seattle, Pacific, Gonzaga, Willamette, and NCCU.

3/1/08 received UALR paperwork for $10K out-of-state tuition scholarship = JD for $30K

3/17/08 Checked admission status by phone at Gonzaga and Pacific. Wait-listed at Gonzaga, decision still pending at Pacific.

3/19/08 Wait-list letter from Pacific. Was really hoping for acceptance there.

3/24/07 Mailed UALR scholarship acceptance

3/26/08 Submitted application to Alabama. It's a long shot but they sent a notice that they were looking for more in-state applicants and would waive the app fee.

3/28/08 Received acceptance package from Willamette stuffed in a normal sized envelope. A thin letter from Seattle gave away the rejection notice inside.

4/7/08 Called NCCU, they said my application was currently under review and it would still take 4-6 weeks from today for them to make a decision. From the day my application was completed 1/17/08 that would be a 3 1/2 to 4 month wait.

4/14/08 Received large acceptance packet from Samford, but Cumberland is not really an option at this point. Called by Assistant Dean of Admissions and Dean of Financial Aid at Willamette. I'm approved for a full financial aid package and I'm still in consideration for scholarship $$. Any scholarship funds I receive will reduce my Graduate Plus loan. Hoping for anything to ease the pain of $80-100K in loans.

4/19/08 Accepted at NCCU, makes me take a hard look at Willamette and $1000 a month in loans. A scholarship from Willamette would make it automatic.

6/04/08 Last minute rejection by Bama a moot point. My visit to Oregon was awesome, I'll be attending Willamette in the fall!

hey Aaron, Thanks. Whats your top choice? You've applied to a good number of schools, so I'm sure you'll get in. Whats the difference between waitlisted and deferred?

congrats!

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that if you decide to attend UALR I have created a facebook group for the class of 2011. Hopefully it will allow incoming 1L's to ask questions, look for roommates, etc... http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=15988451927 Good luck at Bama!
